Hey
vegasraiderI'm not sure you're gonna get any takers on this for review. Basically the site is just a standard Proboards site with a few raiders logos.
Here are my first thoughts though -
1. Find a logo that doesn't repeat at the top.
2. Make a New Posts icon - as you only have a No New Posts one at the moment.
On a bigger level - who is this site really
for? I mean, if it's just for people to come on and go - "Yeah I'm a fan!" or "Nah, I hate them". Then you're going to have a very short run as a forum and it's going to get very boring, very quickly.
If you were wanting to make an information site, all about the raiders and Las Vegas as a whole, then I would argue that you don't need a forum at all. You need a blog or a website. So maybe visit Wix or Webpress.
If you're wanting it to be an information
community then, initially you're going to have to be the one responsible for putting out
a lot of content. So, for example.
uk.ign.com/ started out as someone just talking about video games. They posted reviews and information and release dates and made reports on new announcements and attended events and fed back all of this information to a community in
one place. This was the point of IGN - for all of this information, which would normally be in several different places, to be in one. Eventually it grew and other contributors wrote reviews and feedback and reported on rumours or announcements and people would debate about which game is the best game of the 80s etc.
But all of that had to be started by one guy or a small group of people just flooding the site with information. So, if this is how you want the site to go, I would recommend having sections like - Raider Match Records since the Year 0. Polls and Debates (eg. who is the greatest Raider player of all time?). A videos section for all of the announcements, play-by-plays, conference talks and anything else that people would normally go to Youtube or fan sites for.
You could also do this for all the other things in Las Vegas you're interested in. A list of venues with a review section (a little trip advisor section essentially for Las Vegas), announcements of any events, shows or big happenings IN those venues. Asking people to leave their feedback on such shows and venues and making it a community that way.
Maybe a penpal section, where people can seek out a penpal who happens to be in Las Vegas - maybe you can start a sort of Air BnB thing for those who want to visit Vegas and MEET those penpals.
I dunno, these are all idea spitballs and I have no idea what you want to
do with this site, but I think figuring that out but be your best first step.
Hope this helps!
