You guys have probably answered this hundreds of times and I apologize if this is easy to find. I can't seem to find a thread or google search that will pull up something relevant.
I am wondering if I can move the proboards integrated shout box into it's own members only category in a board?
I have a board dedicated to it and everything I just am unsure the best way to get it moved/displayed there. I really appreciate any help and I hope this is the right board to post on haha.

I'm not a coder, but I like your idea. Maybe create a custom page with the Shoutbox on it, then make it accessible only to members. Or create a board titled "Members Only Shoutbox" with a link to it. That's what I'm guessing.

Afternoon, Have you looked at this post by Jordan? Thank you! This looks perfect.
My only concern is where I might put the code
<div id="move-shoutbox"></div> Would I need to make a custom page within the board itself that I want to move it to? Trying to think of the best way to proceed, I really appreciate all the help so far

Just put it in your header or footer for that specific board (:

Thank you Kami!! You are always such a big help.
I hate to be a drag and a let down, but for some reason I can't get the code to work!
I put this code in my global footer and enabled my shout box before hand
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() { $('#move-shoutbox').append($('div.shoutbox.container.full')); });
</script> and then I went to heads and footers and went to the shout box board I am trying to move it into and copied this into the footer
<div id="move-shoutbox"></div> And clicked saved, and double checked everything. I went to the front page and the shout box is still showing up (dang it!) so I went to the board it is supposed to be on and it is still showing at the bottom as if it were a global footer code.
So I am not sure if I broke something or if I need to change something.
I have proboards default theme just the dark version.
I really am not sure what I can do to try to change it. Would I perhaps need to change viewing permissions or something for the board? Really not sure what to do.
I will mess around and see if I can fix it, otherwise I hope someone smarter than me in this regard can maybe offer some help. Thank you again everyone for how much help you have been and always are!
Thanks! hope to hear back

weareallone , What is your overall goal? Is it just to make the shoutbox for members only? If so, you can accomplish that by: Go to Admin > Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper and look for this near the bottom: $[content] $[shoutbox] and make it look like this: $[content] {if $[current_user.is_member]} $[shoutbox] {/if} This will make it so only members can see the shoutbox.

Sorry I really should have outlined my goal better.
My goal is to make the shout box a members only feature, and then have it only within a certain board which is designated "shout box" in the members only category.
What is the best way to do this? The code I was linked to in earlier comments did not seem to work in moving it to the member's board and still displayed it in the global footer.
Hope I am making sense here
thanks again!

weareallone, If it's still showing on every page, then you probably didn't comment it out in your Forum Wrapper - which will make it show on every page. Go to where Scott mentioned, find the 2 lines he showed you and instead change to this: $[content] <!-- $[shoutbox] -->
This should hide the shoutbox on all pages except where you have the <div> in the specific board's header/footer. The code is most likely working, but if it wasn't commented out in the Forum Wrapper, you wouldn't notice that.

I went ahead and swapped the code out, and went to the spot scott mentioned and swapped it out with that code above.
The good news is, the shout box dissapeared from the global footer, but it is not showing in the members shout box board. Could this be because I am technically staff and not a member therefore cant see it?
This code I have on the footer for the board I am attempting to get it shown on
<div id="move-shoutbox"></div> here is a picture for reference where I am trying to have her show up
I seriously appreciate the help MSG, thanks
