So, I've been hit with sudden inspiration for a roleplaying board that I think I've never seen before and would be an interesting little twist. So, a lot of roleplays will have the twist of their characters being zombies or vampires or such, but what a majority of the characters that were created were YouTubers?
So, I don't mean actual people that are YouTubers, I mean that perhaps you create a Beauty Guru that gets caught in scandal when she accepts a shifty sponsorship. A vlogger that catches some great gossip fuel while on his daily grind. A commentator that calls out his fellow YouTubers for anything they've done questionable. The tables are all open. On top of that it's a basic city life RP. Everyone lives in an imaginary area somewhere in California and is trying to live their normal lives while hoping to go viral, so you have your normal drama filled city of people making friends and making enemies, but you also have threads of your character roleplaying video collabs they're making, or solo character building type threads of maybe a video gone viral.
I'm still working out the details of how everything will work, but I'm feel like there are lots of cool things you can do with this concept. Every post you make will add to a subscriber total, and every finished 'video' made will have a random dice roll to go how viral it does or does not go - you could gain a hundred subs or your could gain a couple thousand from that video. Every scandal knocks down your subs as well. Admins and mods will also control random events that would be expected for the life of someone that's a YouTuber, like conventions, getting a sponsorship, creating a merch line, and other fun things like that.
My head is full of ideas for how this could go and work, and I am ready to start making it happen, but I'm unsure if this is an idea that others would enjoy or a concept that people would find as interesting as I do. Thoughts?
