There’s a very specific feeling you get when you find out the coach of the worst team in NFL history has been fired. It can best be described as, “yep, that seems about right,” and is accompanied by a solemn nodding of one’s head.
There’s a very specific, albeit very different, feeling you get when you find out that coach is once again working for your team, now with the title of “special assistant coach”. This feeling can also be described as, “yep, that seems about right,” but with a wildly different tone. This feeling is also accompanied by a head-nodding motion, but the head bows much lower and makes forceful contact with the desk before being raised again. This motion is repeated until loss of consciousness occurs.
*sigh* At least the Bengals did well when Hue Jackson was on staff before. Those were the years they made it to the playoffs and it was his record in Cincinnati that landed him the head coaching position in Cleveland. Now my worry is that Marvin Lewis is grooming Jackson to be his replacement upon retirement, and I’m not sure I feel comfortable with that prospect. And it’s almost certain to happen, because Mike Brown is cheap as all hell and Jackson has the bargaining power of a dead trout.
This turn of events will also be interesting—and by “interesting,” I mean “mildly terrifying”—because the Bengals and Browns will face each other twice before the end of the season. At least the Bengals will have the benefits of A) not being the Browns; B) knowing the Browns’ playbook; C) knowing what the Browns know about the Bengals’ playbook; and D) not being the Browns.

Thank heavens for a bye week this week -and if they don't beat the Jets next week I'm going to smother myself to death with my cats.

Alex Smith done for the season with a broken leg. So, effectively, the Skins are too. Colt McCoy is the backup, and they don't even have a 3rd string other than a wide receiver who plays in "emergencies". Oh well, just hope Smith's surgery goes well and he gets healthy again. Feel really bad for him.

What happened to my SuperBowl Eagles? ? ? The current boogeymen (now that we've moved on from blaming Jalen Mills for everything) are a combination of injuries, the lack of Frank Reich (last season's offensive coordinator), the lack of a run game, and just general terribleness. So everything, basically.

I still wear mine. It seems to get a positive reaction from people. But I don't tend to encounter very many Cowboys or Redskins fans during my daily commute, so that also helps. Now, looking at the upcoming schedule, I have prepared a glorious path for the Eagles to reach a three-way tie for 6-6 atop the division after Week 13: 1) Eagles cream the Giants on Sunday. (difficulty: easy) 2) Gleefully watch as the Saints eviscerate Dallas on Thursday night. (difficulty: easy (for the Saints)) 3) Eagles beat the Redskins on Monday night (difficulty: moderate) If all three of those chips fall into place, then the Eagles, Cowboys, and Redskins will all be improbably tied at 6-6 with four weeks remaining. After that, we control our own destiny: 4) Travel to Dallas and get humiliated again 5) Get pounded into tar by the Rams 6) Get gored by the Texans 7) Decide we'd rather have the draft pick, bench everybody, and lose to Washington. At least we'll get to see Foles play again? There. The perfect way to get a half-decent first-round draft pick (That is our goal, isn't it?)

As far as getting a half-decent first-round draft pick, Syko Nachoman , that had better be our goal. Because despite your well laid out plans for a three way 6/6 tie, I'm not sure the teams will get your memo.
The first half of the season should have been such easy pickins'. That surely didn't go as planned.
Nice that your hoodie is getting positive reactions from other people. Problem is, as the wearer, I can't muster up anything positive about it!

Not anymore! Also, the Eagles are now only a game behind in the division, despite having a losing record. This season is all about small victories (such as today's, well, surprisingly small margin of victory).

I'm glad you are seeing the glass as half full, Syko Nachoman. They are lucky the entire NFC East division is blah.
But as the favored team, the Eagles should have had a decisive win. It was sure a far cry from the the last time the teams matched up and the Eagles ruled throughout the quarters with a 34/13 win
