We are using the lovely theme "Midnight Blue", and notice that no matter how short a message is, too much blank space is left due to the mini profile being so long. We'd like to tighten it up a bit so that the photo can be reduced, text size, and empty space can be reduced.
Is there a pathway to change this? Is this a fix that can be made within the Style Sheet?
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Thanks for any help you can give me! Marlana , could you post your link and a screenshot/plus code from the mini-profiles html area in the LAYOUT TEMPLATES. I know the theme you are talking about. However; the changes you will need to do is through the Layout Templates > Mini-profiles -- the creator changed those settings to fit with what she wanted. I just need to know what you would like so that I can give you the code -- so add the code to what it has or a screenshot and I can fix that part for yeah. I think that is all she did. I could also talk to her about it. But I have that theme up and have tweaked that part. Some corrections can be made through the stylesheet, but not how she set it up. There are some code she added. I need that code to proceed in helping you with this. For now I will post it at my test board and see what I can do and I can help you with that.

There is other ways to change it up but that would take some doing. I know there are themes out there that has it where you have a few add-ons to the mini profile and all the other comes out when you click on something. But you could increase your font size, maybe change of the width or something. But I see other responses where there is a lot of text and there is no space. So it really is that the responses are small in length. Sorry that I am not much help but maybe someone can build you something that you have to click on. However, even with that would drive people away. I had one theme like that and my members did not like that. So hopefully someone can do something for you but really when the next version (Proboards is doing an upgrade but no one knows the exact time not even them) comes out you will not have much space to be concerned about.

Well for example, this response right here. My response is short, but look at the white space. Of course if there's text it compensates for the lost area. I notice on these support boards the mini-profile does the same thing. Is this across the site that this happens?

I notice on these support boards the mini-profile does the same thing. Is this across the site that this happens?Yes. That's pretty much true of any forum environment. The miniprofile container necessarily has a minimum height determined by how much information you're trying to display. With less information, smaller text and images, and less padding/spacing/margins, you can minimize the amount of real estate required but you'll always have some minimum height which will take up more than a single line of text in a post. Here's a comparison of your miniprofile on your forum and the one you use on the Support Forum: By reducing the size of the text, the amount of padding/spacing/margins, and perhaps the height of the avatar and its wrapper, you can probably make a significant impact on the height required. You might also consider removing some of the information you're displaying, too.

Now I'm getting somewhere! If I eliminate the profile update, post #, likes, and karma, I can make room. Once I do that I know how to adjust the height. Is there a way to eliminate unwanted information like that?

To get rid of unwanted information, Admin Home> Themes> Layout Templates> then click Mini-ProfileA new page will appear. Before you change anything, select all, then copy. Open a Notepad or Notepad++ file, then paste. 'Save as:' (select a folder and create a name). This insures you have a copy of the original you can use to restore, if you create a problem.
Near the bottom of your Mini-profile layout, you'll see a <div class="info">
Look at each line before the closing </div>. Remove the lines you don't need. Click Preview Changes at the bottom of the page. You'll be allowed to select a board, then a thread to be displayed in a new browser tab. That will allow you to check what you've done so far before actually saving it. Have you removed too much? No problem. Just start over without saving. If you're happy with what you've done so far go back to the browser tab with the layout template and click Save ChangesI notice a lot of wasted space at the very top and bottom of the Mini-profile. Look for a <br> or <br />. Try removing those then Preview Changes. If you like what you see, Save Changes. Let me know how this works out for you.

This is where it starts looking like div class "info".... I'm so lost with understanding what to take out!
Can you copy what I have below, back to me in a reply with highlights how I can find the areas I wanted eliminated?: profile update, post #, likes, and karma. If you can, thanks!
<div class="info"> Posts: $[user.posts]{if $[user.gender]}<span class="float-right">$[user.gender.image]</span>{/if} <br /> Likes: $[user.likes] {foreach $[user.mini_custom_field]} <br /><span class="$[user.mini_custom_field.content_class]">$[user.mini_custom_field.name]: $[user.mini_custom_field.value]</span> {/foreach} {if $[user.is_online]}<br /><span class="italic">Member is Online</span> {/if} </div><br /> $[user.website] {/if}

Update.. I removed some info but each time I try to condense the space between information I lose the information altogether. It might also help to reduce the font size and avatar size. Can you tell me where I adjust that?

Update.. I removed some info but each time I try to condense the space between information I lose the information altogether. It might also help to reduce the font size and avatar size. Can you tell me where I adjust that? Font size is the easiest. Let's start there. Admin Home> Themes> Advanced Styles & CSS> (stay in the Visual Editor tab) On the right side of the page you'll see a preview panel. Navigate by clicking on a board then clicking on a thread so you can see a miniprofile in the post list of the thread. You'll be able to see live update of changes you make in through the Visual Editor. On the left side of the page near the bottom, under the heading Objects you'll see Mini-Profiles. Click that and that section will expand. Then click on Text, that section expands. Font Size will adjust the size of the text for your Member rank or Member group.
Click on Links, that section expands. Font Size will adjust the size of the text for your Display Name (it's a link).
Click on Info Areas, that section expands. Font Size will adjust the size of the text for the information section at the bottom of the miniprofile. When you get all those items looking the way you want, click Save Changes at the bottom left of the page. Avatar Height.Scroll to the top of the page and select the Style Sheet tab. Then navigate on the right panel by clicking on a board then clicking on a thread so you can see a miniprofile in the post list of the thread. Click anywhere in the left panel where all the css is listed. Ctrl-F, then type in (or paste) .avatar_size_default img in the little box that appears, then press enter on your keyboard. That will take you to a line which determines the size of the avatar. Somewhere on that line, you'll see max-height: 150px; max-width: 150px;Change the max-height to 100px (or whatever height you want the avatar to be) A line or two above that, you'll see a line that starts .avatar-wrapper.avatar_size_defaultSomewhere on that line, you'll see height: 150px; width: 150px;Change the height to 100px (or whatever you had set for the height of the avatar) Click Save Changes at the bottom left of the page. KarmaI think that's handled by a plugin. Go to the settings for that plugin and see if there's an option for showing Karma in the profile but not in the mini-profile.

Karma I think that's handled by a plugin. Go to the settings for that plugin and see if there's an option for showing Karma in the profile but not in the mini-profile. Had a look at the setting for it on my forum and there is nothing to stop it loading in the profile. Easist thing to do, is to put a request in the developers thread and they may be able to come up with a custom version.
