Forum URL: classic50racing.proboards.com/Is it at all possible, to have small images in the News feed to scroll across? If so how easy is this to achieve please? Also is it possible to have an additional newsfeed to place at the bottom as well?

Hi It may be better to disable the news feed and add a different code to the header, which you can also then duplicate in to the footer also. Would the scrolling images be the only thing in the news feed?

Thanks for advice, but I feel I may be stepping outside my comfort zone trying to do this.
I was hoping the news feed could have had a few pictures scrolling as well as some text statements.
I am not that au fait with coding. I struggled adding and sizing photos in the header, as it is, and still cant figure out how to move the title below the photos. I do not want to risk ruining what I have managed to do so far.
Is there an easy way just to add an extra news feed?

media50, are you wanting to duplicate the existing news feed so that they both display the same thing?

Both the Random News and Forum Marquee plugins accept images. I have an image running in both right now that you can see on my Codes and Designs test forum. Each plugin should be linked to its appropriate support thread if you decide to go with one of them.

media50 , • Go to Admin > Structure > Layout Templates. • Click on the Home template. • Scroll to the very bottom and on a brand new line add this: $[news] • Click the Save Changes Button. That's it!

Tried the Random News plug in, but I am not savvy enough to understand it fully. I filled it in as best I thought bit can't see it appeared anywhere with a link to an image. Also not sure how I place this at bottom of page? I have not tried the other plug in yet

Brilliant, that worked and I now have a news feed at the bottom too. Thing is though the Top feed is 'Dynamic' and the bottom static. How do I make both Dynamic? Next thing is how or can I put photos in the new Dynamic bottom feed? Also if I cant add photos, where / how do I centre the Static news feed text I now have at bottom of my page? [Sorry if my questions seem stupid]

media50, my bad - I totally spaced that the news variable uses ID attributes and not classes. In non-code speak, this means there can only be one instance of an ID element on a page - thus you cannot use the $[news] variable twice on the page. To mirror the news feed at the top and the bottom I would recommend the Random News plugin that Lynx suggested.

The news feed one could be OK but I am not clever enough to sort it, like placing it where I want on the page. I will just run with what you told me, as apart from the text not being centred it is pretty much what I was looking for. Thanks for your help

The news feed one could be OK but I am not clever enough to sort it, like placing it where I want on the page. I will just run with what you told me, as apart from the text not being centred it is pretty much what I was looking for. Thanks for your help The Random News Feed plugin only requires you to add a single line where you want it to be displayed: <div class="msg-rnf"></div> So, it bears to question: Which page(s) and location do you want it displayed at? Once that is known, we can let you know exactly where to put that line above. As far as getting it to show an image, when you're in the plugin's settings, click on the News Feeds tab. In the News Line box, place an image using HTML, like this: <img src="http://storage.proboards.com/6303556/images/RGSZLuwljrEsfTNEVDuA.png" width="32px" height="32px" />This is just a test with an image in Random News Feed. CAUTION: If you are using a large image, be sure to set the width and height attributes (like I did in the code line above) - or else it will not look pretty. Also note that the image does need to be hosted online somewhere. If you need further help with the Random News plugin, my support thread for it can be found here: support.proboards.com/thread/569571/random-news
