I'd like to have some sort of monetary system for my forum, but I can't find any in the library.

Peter, according to a thread, deleted the plugin due to coding. The plugin will probably be back during v6.

Problem though, is we don't know when v6 will come out or how long afterwards it will be until the coder puts the plugin back. Means that this sounds like it could open up requests for a similar plugin for the server software we are already using.

Others are always welcome to develop a new monetary system plugin; there's nothing preventing that from happening. The problem is, no one is going to do that until v6 is released. Why make a plugin that will be obsolete soon? btw the Monetary System is still available from Peter's GitHub repo: github.com/PopThosePringles/ProBoards-MonetaryJust have to download the .pbp file and install it manually. Not a big deal.

I'm confused, wouldn't the v6 board code be designed for back porting of plugins from v5 or plugins made functioning to work on both versions of ProBoards? Doing so world benefit a lot of users here, don't you think?
I already know that I can still get the Monetary System from Peter's GitHub for the time being, but it seems like we may need a replacement as I'm not aware of a release date for v6 let alone how long after such time until Peter brings the Monetary System back here.

Doing so world benefit a lot of users here, don't you think? Mm, nope. Many, if not most v5 plugins will not be compatible with v6. The new layout has new selectors, which will render current plugins that rely on current selectors unusable. Developers will either need to update their plugins to account for this, or rewrite them completely. But we won't know which ones work and which ones don't until v6 is actually released. From a developer's perspective, it doesn't make sense to write something that may not be usable.

I still have that old System on my forums, yet it says it is deleted. But the whole system still works well and I still got my keys used up for that system.

I still have that old System on my forums, yet it says it is deleted. But the whole system still works well and I still got my keys used up for that system. If you had the plugin installed prior the deletion from the plugin library the plugin will still continue to function unless PB releases an update that winds up rendering the plugin incompatible with PB. Peter deleting the plugin from the library will not affect anyone that already had it installed, because the data is stored on each forum. Deleting the plugin from the library did just that, nothing else, and was done to prevent others from downloading it + expecting the plugin to be supported by Peter should the plugin break or something. Basically, the plugin is now “use at your own risk” and until Peter writes the version he intends for v6, you won’t get any assistance from him to support the v5 plugin if it breaks or if you need help using it.

blackmalachite, It's on the releases page. Even though the pbp file in the repository is identical to the release (in this case), usually it's best not to directly download from that page. The one listed in the repository is usually bleeding edge / very buggy / dev version, so is not suitable for your live forum. Just a heads up for others. Always check the releases page first. github.com/PopThosePringles/ProBoards-Monetary/releases
