Hi pb admins ! The new help guide says that you can change / cancel a succession “at any time” — does this include if the terms of succession (excluding an admin’s passing ofc) have already been met? EG if an admin states that this should be done if they go two months without activity and that milestone passes, could they come back in a year and reclaim ownership?

Kami , In a word - no. Your question references item 6. The ability to revoke or change the agreement at any time was intended to mean prior to the agreement being implemented, in much the same way a person can make changes to their will prior to passing. The overall purpose of an admin creating a succession agreement is with the understanding that under certain circumstances they are not expecting to return to the forum and are making a provision for the forum to continue by surrendering their admin account to another. In most cases this would be a passing and there would be an obituary for confirmation. However, one could become incapacitated or there is no obituary for confirmation and this is where the absent for a specific period of time comes in to play. Once the agreement is executed it is final, in the same manner that a current ownership transfer is final. Apologies that this was not originally clear and thank you for bringing this to our attention. The Help Guide article has been revised. (Just a quick note that the ability to designate a successor is not new. It has been stated previously in Support posts when inquired about. Due to some recent interest, the process was amended to the Help Guide article Forum Account Transfers so that the information was in one location rather than having to search through support threads.)
