So, if I get my own server for a main website (and the PB one as my forum), would there be a way to use PHP to recreate PB variables? So for example, I put this into the HTML of the main site: $[user], and when I run the code it will show which user it is, etc. Also, can there be a way to make {if}{/if} too? Is it possible for me to do this, since I'm really fond of the PB variables and system and all.

No this is not possible!
The {if}{else} statements are just how proboards template engine parse user input. Not sure they use php or python but those templates are rendered in the engine then parsed by the compiler, it's how most template engines work. The engine looks for matching braces, then turns those braces into a string based on what has been configured.
The only way you would have access to data in such fashion( forum / to / website ) would be by the use of a restful service(AJAX), which proboards does not provide.

Php, (and I think python) are not compatible with Probards. Also I do believe that creating something that makes AJAX calls to Proboards servers is a violation of the TOS, (though I do stand to be corrected on it).

I meant for a main website which isn't created by PB, can I recreate ProBoards Variables and use it there. For example I want to put this on my main site: {if $[user] == "Jonathan"}Hi John!{/if}

If your question is "Can I recreate a similar template engine on my website?" the answer is yes. The only real limitation in that regard is if you possess the ability to code it.
But if in addition to the above question you're asking "Can I add variables to my site that obtain data from my forum?" the answer would be no for the reasons mentioned in the first reply.

And would one be allowed to do so? Is it like copyrighted or trademarked or something?
