I was beginning to build a forum and I've locked myself out of the page and the email address I created for it so can't even reset the password. Is it possible to get back into the new forum if I can provide only the name of the site and the email address I used as I really don't want to re register and start building a new forum again. Thanks

I can surely understand the position you are in, however the only way to gain access to the forums would be if you still had access to the email address used to create them. There is no other way to verify you are the same user who created the forums.
I apologize I don't have a better answer for you.

This happened to me. Have you tried to enter the username Admin? I managed to log in that way.

ouchouch , while you are logged in to here (support), you can click on the switch forum icon on the user bar at the bottom right of the window: This will show you all forums and accounts you created under the same email address, as well as allow you access / switch between them.

Thanks for your responses. Looks like the work is lost then. No access to the email address. I guess I need to start writing down my passwords in future!

Glad to hear you were successful in remembering your password, but if I'm reading this correctly it sounds like you may be planning to share credentials. Do not do that. There a way to allow the others who will help manage your forum to have almost all the same powers as the root admin.

If more than one person will help you with the forum, then they should each have their own account. You should not share your login information, in fact it's a violation of our terms of service. The forums have "member groups". You can assign your helpers to an administrative group and assign them forum powers that let them do pretty much everything you can do as the owner of the forum. You can read more about this here: Creating and Managing Member GroupsModifying Member Group Powers
Adding a Forum Member to a Member GroupAlso this may be a good Help Guide article to read as well: Preventing Forum Content DeletionIf you have any questions about this or anything else, please let us know.
