Do you celebrate Easter? Is it a Christian celebration for you [the resurrection of Jesus] or a pagan/spring one [eggs, bunnies, lambs, flowers]? The two have become melded through the years and I wondered which you connect with. It may be both. I'm just curious.

Growing up, Easter was about painted eggs, bunnies, flowers, eye-assaulting pastels, and candy in practice, but I still knew it was ostensibly about Jesus, coming from a Christian family. I think thatโs probably the case for most American households for two main reasons: 1) itโs considered acceptable to commercialize the cutesy aspect of a holiday, and so that tends to dominate society; and 2) most Americans areโor come from a background that isโProtestant, and the pomp and ceremony surrounding Christian Easter is more of a Catholic thing.
Now, Easter means absolutely nothing to me. Thereโs no religious significance nor do I feel any need/desire to celebrate the season.

I like that I get Friday and Monday off work, and thatโs all it is to me.

Pagan---gotta love those cheap chocolate bunnies and the egg salad I get after having dyed them! the only reason I celebrate Is to get those two things and to visit with my sister and her family at the Chinese Buffet!!! And visit with my mom in the nursing home.
No kids so no reason to do any sort of celebration.

Although now with my kids and family, we don't really celebrate anything other than the pagan side of the holiday.

Here's how I usually spend the time around Easter:
1. Whenever the forecast predicts storms in the Northeast, I make jokes about them being "Nor-Easters." 2. I fantasize about Cadbury Creme Eggs but don't actually buy any.
The end.
