I'm currently reading 'When the Music's Over' ~ an Inspector Banks novel by Peter Robinson. I love Peter's Inspector Banks series, however, this one is very hard going. There are two stories going on and I can't fathom out how they are going to meld...I'm nearly at the end. Maybe they won't, but if that's the case, there was no point to the book. I'm really struggling with this one, but I have to finish it!

I picked up Brandon Sanderson's The Final Empire. Really enjoying it so far and fairly interesting magic system.

I'm reading Fire & Blood by George RR Martin. It's the history of the Targaryan family, starting with the Aegon's conquest of Westeros. I'm in love with it so far. It's written from the perspective of a Maester of the Citadel. Just as amazing as the Song of Fire & Ice books he wrote for Game of Thrones.

I just began Stephen King's Skeleton Crew, another short story collection. I'm about 2/3 of the way through "The Mist," the opening story.

Joseph Campbell's The Hero with a Thousand Faces. Which is an excellent work of comparative mythology and psychoanalysis. Currently doing a serious reread with one of the reading groups I organized.

The next book on my list is Toil & Trouble: 15 Tales of Women & Witchcraft, which is a really interesting-looking anthology that I saw going around for a while. I haven't been reading much lately but I feel like this one will be a good way to get back to it.

I just fished the ARC for Nora Roberts last book in her trilogy - Chronicles of the One (you should hear what I thought of the first two books!) The Rise of Magicks (Chronicles of The One, #3) Now I'm reading an interesting fiction novel (by an author that used to write only romances, now her writing has matured), that deals with so many popular real-life issues - bullying, aging, mental illnesses, bias, and yes some romance. www.goodreads.com/book/show/42755366-life-and-other-inconveniences

Each would have been good, had they been novels of their own. Just started reading 'REVEAL' By Chris Heath and Robbie Williams. 30 pages in and it's boring me already. The style of writing is very convoluted and it hasn't gripped me thus far. I'll keep reading it until I can't bear to continue

1868!!!!! "An act may be wrong, but unless the ruling power recognizes the wrong, it is useless to hope for a correction of it. Principles may be right, but they are not established within an hour." -Elizabeth Keckley. Behind the Scenes: Thirty Years a Slave and Four Years in the White House (p. 7).
I just finished reading this book. Her observations about slavery and Mrs. Lincoln were very interesting.

I'm currently reading 'Underworld" by Meg Cabot. It's the second book in her Abandoned Trilogy.
