I would like for the contents of my website to resize automatically to fit the screen depending on how it's being viewed, so that it will fit better on mobile. Is there a way to manage this? Thanks!

Yes, this is called responsive design and it's done using CSS media queries. learn.shayhowe.com/advanced-html-css/responsive-web-design/css-tricks.com/css-media-queries/cssmediaqueries.com/I've made two themes responsive in ProBoards v5, but it wasn't quick or simple. And I say this as someone who writes HTML/CSS for a living. tarp-theme.proboards.com/gaming-boards-theme.proboards.com/v5 isn't optimized for mobile viewing. You will experience trouble with things that are not directly editable, such as the navigation tree, news slider, control bar (pagination, search, actions, etc.), WYSIWYG, and dialogs. I wrote a lot of additional CSS and JavaScript for these two themes and there are still sub-optimal behaviors. You will also lose compatibility with some plugins. If you're up for a challenge, then making v5 responsive definitely fits the bill. Otherwise sit tight for v6, which will be responsive by default.
