Meryl, i never watched the original Upstairs, Downstairs, but the BBC did a reboot series of that - around the time that Downton Abbey started - which i was enjoying, but it got cancelled after the first series, which was disappointing

Strange they did that  Oh well, you can get the complete box set, if you want    I bought it a while ago!

Yes, she is. But in my opinion, the actors are all quite excellent. It really irritated me when they killed off the best daughter (Edith is kind of a doormat and Mary is vicious) but I guess that was necessary for the story line.

I just loved the relationship between Bates and Anna. Even more so, Carson and Hughes.

At first I had a lot of contempt for Rose but after seeing what her mother was all about, I'm impressed that she turned out so well in the end.
