I’m not entirely sure where to post this, but I’m gonna try to explain what I’m trying to do.
A friend and I are making a site together and working on remodeling the whole site ourselves.
I’m trying to remodel the profile and mini-profile without the use of hovers as the code for that does my head in. I was wondering if there are any tutorials on how to move stuff around on the profile itself. Basically, I want to use the large avatar (figured out how to change that) and move all the stuff below the avatar next to it. I tried earlier to move the $[content] thing and it all got mushed together.

There is some modifications that can be done to that. Same with profiles but there are limitations. More details and share your link will help. Moving things is not as simple as that.

I kinda got the miniprofile close to what I wanted. preview just gotta adjust some colors and add the custom fields on that one I think. I know this isn't ideal, but it's an idea of what I want to do. I reset it all to default before taking a snapshot. I'm trying to move name, member group and custom title under the avatar, that box to the middle-area and make custom fields appear above followers/following on the side. If that makes sense? the site: nightgathers.freeforums.net/

M-P: Great job on what you did do so far.
I do know there is some tweaking that can be done or I saw code. I will check my resources.
I think others have tweaked what could be tweaked so maybe they will come in and help you as well.

alysonryder , it looks like to me you want it in 3-columns, right? That is what I am getting from your posts. Also these changes would have to be made with each theme you create unless you are only wanting one than no problem.

Also these changes would have to be made with each theme you create unless you are only wanting one than no problem. Hi again, Yes, that does sound like what I've been trying to do. Is there an easy way to do that? I tried doing that the other day and wound up resetting the code to default because the "latest status" etc wound up covering parts of the avatar and I figured it might be better to ask for help than drive myself nuts trying to figure out something that's a little over my head. I've looked at resources both here and elsewhere and it might just be that I'm blind, but I haven't been able to find what it is I'm looking for there. For the mini-profile, I know what I'm missing are a bunch of {foreach} and custom-fields, but those seem a little easier to figure out than the profile itself ^^ Easier to keep straight when everything is on the same tab ^^

So you want the custom field - and what others? Just to clarify. Would you like the text to be a different color so you can read it easier? If you want you can go into your them in the admin panel - ADMIN > THEMES > ADV.CSS > Visual Editor - > MINI PROFILE. Change all the text to colors you want. Whatever that may be. I usually do the CSS in the MP in the Layout Templates but either way will work.

Sorry, I had a reply ready, then travel got in the way and I had to start over ^^; For the custom fields we're looking at: One for species (as we're making a supernatural site), one for age, and one for next of kin (of the variety you can tag another member) on the mini-profile itself, the custom fields (like for plotter, app etc I just want on the main profile). As for the colors, I am aiming for a lighter green on the boxes, just have to find the right shade first ^^ Thinking when I find the right shade of background color, I want to use the current background-color for borders instead ^^ Anyway, here's what I'm working with right now: <div class="$[miniprofile_class]"> <center><div style="border:2px solid #ffffff;padding:10px;background-color:#3D5B43;"><div style="font-size:25px;">$[user]</div> {if $[user.is_guest]}Guest{/if} {if $[user.is_deleted]}<em>Deleted Member</em>{/if} {if $[user.group]} $[user.group.name] {elseif $[user.rank]} $[user.rank.name]<br /> {if $[user.rank.stars]} $[user.rank.stars]<br /> {/if} {/if}</div></center> {if $[user.avatar]} <div class="avatar">$[user.avatar]</div> {/if} <div style="border:2px solid #ffffff;background-color:#3D5B43;">{if $[user.custom_title]}$[user.custom_title]<br />{/if} {if $[user.personal_text.message]} $[user.personal_text]<br /> {/if} {if $[user.is_member]} <div class="info"> Posts: $[user.posts]{if $[user.gender]}<span class="float-right">$[user.gender.image]</span>{/if} {foreach $[user.mini_custom_field]} {if $[user.custom_field.name] == "Application"} <span class="$[user.custom_field.content_class]"> <a href="$[user.custom_field.value]">Link</a> </span> {/if} {if $[user.custom_field.name] == "Plotter"} <div class="minilinks"><a href="$[user.custom_field.value]">Plotter</a></div> {/if} {/foreach}
{if $[user.is_online]}<br /><span class="italic">Member is Online</span>{/if} </div><br /> {/if}</div> </div>

You create your sections in going to ADMIN > MEMBERS > CUSTOM FIELDS -- then go from there for what you want custom fields to be. The links from MP should automatically grab that information and put it in in the MP.
You will need to use padding as well so that the text is not "so close" the the edge -- If you are going to use a dark background you will need to use a light text color. For me I would not be able to see so I would just ignore MP.
Also some spacing would help as well margin:10px auto; You can change 10px for more space or less.
I don't have time but choose what you want and I can play around with it. But I will not be back on until tomorrow.
