Hii!! I am not so sure if there was a plugin requested for this. I tried searching and I don't believe there was one. I apologize if there was tho ):
My idea was to have a plugin that basically gives a notification to the author of a thread, if a moderator locked/edited/or basically took any mod action towards it. I am aware that sometimes there is a "Send PM to author" button if you are moving the thread, but I wanted it to be an automatic thing that happens regardless.
For example, A moderator "locks" the thread. Maybe it can send a PM to the thread author and say" *NAME OF MODERATOR* locked this thread on (date), Reason:- (Mod writes the reason)"
OR another idea would be posting it like the time stamps on the thread or like how when people "Like" a post or reply it says it on the top of the thread "*NAME* liked the post" So if a Moderator locks a thread it would say on the top of the thread "*NAME OF Moderator locked this thread on (date)"
Either idea works for me tbh, I just want players to be aware of who did what on their threads, and I want to be aware of what moderator is taking what action as well. I know there is a security camera log in the Admin, but this is a neat way of knowing too! Sorry if I wasn't clear haha.

Plugins are not allowed to automatically send a PM. One could probably give a popup notice to the affected user. HOWEVER, I'm not sure plugins can detect what action was taken on the thread. Tagging some coders who may know the answer to that: Brian, Peter, Chris, Todge

It would need a key and you'd have to find a way of writing to that key when a moderator action is applied. A simple click event probably won't work as the moderator action may cause a refresh or to even navigate away from the page, both of which would stop the key from being written to, so you would have to use fake links or delays.

If a PM is not possible would the second idea work? just automatically putting a notice on the thread that the mod took an action. Kinda something similar to this, but it doesnt have to be exactly this.

No matter how you choose to have the notification displayed, it will still require a key, and writing data to that key will always be the issue. I'm not saying this can't be done, it certainly can, I'm just saying that it's not as straightforward as it may seem, and with V6 on the horizon, it may be difficult to find someone willing to put the time and effort into this, especially sonce it may need re-writing in the not too distant future.

Ohhh, I see that makes sense.
