I'd like the plugin for an adaptive application.
So..if they select option one, it jumps to question 6. if they select option two, it jumps to question 7.
This could be useful for RP applications for instance if you select vampire it can jump you to types of vampire options
but if you select werewolf it goes to types of werewolves.
This way you can have all the races listed out, and still answer the extenuating questions you may have.

As a preface I can't fill this, but some questions that occur to me:
- Where do you expect this plugin to function on a forum? (Where will the form be?) - How do you expect the form data to be collected?

I was thinking on a new post. I was thinking if necessary a super key. I'm not sure what would be required, but any form of key would be fine by me.

Hm, I don't think you'd actually need to use a super key on this one if you want this as a plugin for a new post. I think what would be needed would be a plugin similar to the Custom Form Template with the functionality added to jump to a section based on previous selection. Unfortunately the above template is build locked, so you'd either need someone to create an addon or to recreate the plugin with the functionality you want added. It might use a thread key to store the form options, but beyond that no data is actually being saved by the end user so it wouldn't need anything huge.

That was what I was thinking Kami. I use the Custom Form Template currently and I love it. I just wasn't sure if a feature request for it would be something they would be willing to do, so I thought I'd ask here.

Honestly, I'd be willing to pay a plugin creator to make this.

I'm not entirely sure how many plugin creators are taking on new requests at this time with v6 being so up in the air... hopefully though, since this doesn't seem like too big of an ask, it'll have a higher chance of being filled than something more complicated.
Good luck!

since this doesn't seem like too big of an ask, it'll have a higher chance of being filled than something more complicated. It's actually quite a bit of work. I worked on something a while back for someone but never got feedback on it, so I ditched it. I put the source up on GitHub along with the plugin file. It's not finished, so I wouldn't recommend even trying it as I don't think I ever got to the saving part of it. I think most of the time was spent on parsing. The goal of the plugin was to allow you to create any type of form you liked, with whatever form elements you needed. This would include logic to hide / show parts based on selections (never got to this). I will likely look at the project again sometime in the future when v6 is out. github.com/PopThosePringles/ProBoards-Post-Forms

PeterIsn't that quite a bit more than what was asked for in this request? My understanding (perhaps Tiffy can clarify) was that it just needed to be able to have form elements and a 'jump to' (not hide/show) functionality. An example plugin already exists, but without the 'jump to' — I also have a similar plugin, personally, that someone created for me, that has the build open (just remembered!) that could theoretically be modified to add the functionality being requested. It might be nicer / cleaner to have it as you've described, with all the UI elements you've added, but it seems like a much bigger scope than what's being asked for.

Yeah, I was asking for the simpler version but would LOVE the more complicated version. when you roll it out in v6 peter, I'd be very interested..and as I said..I'm willing to compensate you for your time. Let me know. I hate that v6 is so up in the air. I wish we had a time frame on when it's coming because it has pretty much stalled advancement until then. I'll be happy with v6 though..lots of exciting features on it.

Let me know peter if you're willing to take it up again. Though I have a feeling the answer across most plugin creators is going to be 'not until v6'

We're getting a little closer, though. The Trello board is looking good. Last I heard, they were working on the JavaScript API.
