Forum URL: trademasters.boards.net/hi all, as the admin of this forum (and not this one alone) I'm trying to alter a bit the text or logo in the banner for the forum what I am trying to do is: a. to lower the text to the left and base bottom of the banner, like "bottom down" but I can't find an option to do this b. or to have the text in three lines, not just one line alone, as to let room for the banner in the background to be seen, not covered by the text c. or to have and some text, and one small logo at the same time, in the same area, the left, bottom of the banner section
here is what I've tried so far: option A in Admin - Themes - Colors & Themes creator - Scheme Forum banner Text/logo align - I chose left, as we need it, but I have no option to choose "bottom down" so, the text is in the middle of the banner, not down as I'd like it
option B in Admin - Themes - Advanced Styles & CSS - Visual Editor Forum Header (Top) - Forum Banner - Banner text none of the options there allow me to align the text to the "left" and "bottom down" yet, this is the end result I'm aiming for, I'd need to have the text aligned to the left and bottom down I assume I could do some fine tuning using the "Style sheet" but, I don't have the advanced coding skills to make those kind of adjustments, I know my limitations and I need extra help in this area so, that's why I'm posting here, I need some advice, some guidance, what could I do to: first align the text to the left AND bottom down of the banner or split the text in three lines and align all to the left or add some text and one small logo too thank you in advance... I'll monitor this thread in the next few days or so...

As a suggestion, you could create a custom banner and add the text yourself with some editing software.

I've drafted a few options. Can you clarify if these options are what you are going for and pick which one you want? Option A: bottom left text Option B: cascading text Option C: Text over another banner

As a suggest, you could create a custom banner and add the text yourself with some editing software. hi Kelvin and Xanzabar also... yes, I've definitely considered this option, it's just not really gonna work for us, as to keep it somewhat attractive and catchy for our members, we plan to often change the banner with new exiting ones, to catch the eye... we've already changed the banner 2-3 times and we don't plan to stop, more changes are planned, maybe once a month or so... maybe every 6 weeks, in that range... while we could do this, edit each and ever banner we'll be using, it can become a tedious extra task and on top, I'd like to have a constant, if the banner will change relatively often, at least the text and/or logo should be the same, as far as text content and position in elation with the banner I agree however is a good temporary option to use for the time being... yet, would be even better if I can just alter the text position via the existing Admin tools in some ways I was a bit confused to notice I can't position the text as needed, I was somehow thinking it is possible to do it, but it's just me not really knowing how to do it... hehe... thank you

I can try and provide some custom code and get the result you need.

just let me know how can we proceed next...

Not 100% sure if this is what you are after, but this is what I have used to add some text below the text in the banner. The text you add can of course by changed at any time!
Goes in the Forum Wrapper template in place of what you have now,
<h2 id="banner">$[forum.title]<br /><span id="hsub_title">Add the text you want here</span></h2>
Add to the bottom of the stylesheet
/* Banner sub title. */ #hsub_title { color: @banner_text_color; text-shadow: @banner_text_shadow; font-style: italic; font-weight: normal; font-size: 8pt; font-family: Petit Formal Script; }

even if I did try the "find" search option, somehow I can't find it, or if it's there, I can't see it... so, where should I add the code you're suggesting?

You would be still looking because there is not a line, it is at the bottom of the stylesheet there is no line that is extra code to customize what you want done for your forum. It is okay to just put it at the bottom,.

Then scroll all the way to the bottom, put your cursor after all the content and press enter once or twice and create a new line or two. Then Copy the code from the instructional post, and Paste it in at the bottom of the Style Sheet. Finally, click the Save Changes button at the bottom left of the page, OR the Save Theme button near the top of the page.
