Anymore, I basically listen at the Skins games while I'm online. Though I did watch yesterdays game because of the rain. I love a muddy rain game, wish all outdoor stadiums still had real turf. And, considering, the Skins didn't do terrible. Losing 9-0 to a 5 and 0 team at least shows the defense was there.
Been since '92 since they've won the Super Bowl, and every year the moves in the off-season get me fired up and thinking, this is the season! And, then every year I'm disappointed. Except for this season, when I thought going in they would suck.

I promise I will still love whoever agrees with this statement and I hate to say it but I have to agree with it myself -the Pats do seem to have an easy path to the SB.
I'm not sure what the above quote is supposed to mean.

I think the Patriots have a fairly easy division, but it's not like they're playing division teams all season. They play tough teams, they just win. On the other end of the spectrum, the Redskins go to 1-7 after the loss last night to the Vikings. I really didn't give the Skins much of a chance at anything at the beginning of the season, and now there's only the slimmest of chances that they turn their season around and make a playoff run.
I said coming into this season if the Skins were out of contention, I'd root for the Chiefs to win it all. I think Patrick Mahomes is probably the best all around QB in football, in terms of his ability to make plays happen. Then the injury. Only out for 3 weeks I think, and I don't even know who their backup is.
Still rooting for the Skins, that's my team. But, a few more losses and it's time to focus on next season.

Teams lose, it happens. Besides, as a Skins fan, who am I to give it to anyone for their team losing? I'm seriously starting to wonder if the Redskins are going to win another game this season.

Skins didn't lose today!! Only because they had a bye, but still. Some good games though. Got the Giants and Jets here, which I passed on, and Baltimore and Cincinnati. Holy crap Lamar Jackson, Baltimore's QB! That dude is pretty good for only having started 5 games last year and then this season. I hate the Ravens with a passion and only watched hoping against hope that Cincinnati would beat them. But, Lamar Jackson lit them up every way possible, he's only gonna get better barring a bad injury. I was really impressed.
Then caught the end of the Texans/Chiefs game, good game there too with a great ending. Rooted for the Chiefs, but it was hard not to be happy for the Texans with that ending. Then watched Green Bay and Carolina, that turned out to be pretty good too, and in the snow! Loved it.
Tonight, the Cowboys and Vikings. Wishing the Skins still had Kirk Cousins, of course he's doing great in Minnesota. Still, my hate for Dallas overrides my envy of Cousins doing so well on another team, so I'm pulling for the Vikings. Great day of football and it only amps up this time of year. This is why I love the game!

I agree, today's games were great. When all of the 1:00 games were wrapping up, I found myself switching to a different game every 5 minutes because there were so many close games with exciting endings. There were also a lot of strange upsets (Falcons over Saints, Tennessee over Kansas City, Miami over Indy), and the Chiefs/Titans game had a great ending. I'm still baffled trying to figure out whether the Titans are any good, because they seem to turn out a totally random performance every week. Another interesting thing: After today's games, the AFC wildcard race is wide open, with the Steelers (!) and Raiders (!?) both being in serious contention for a wildcard spot. I usually don't follow the AFC very closely, but it's interesting that the only locks to make the playoffs, at this point, are New England and Baltimore. With the Cowboys' loss to Minnesota, they're now tied with the Eagles atop the NFL East at 5-4, which is nice because the Eagles have an easier schedule going forward. The week 16 Eagles/Cowboys game is looking like it's going to be a win-and-in. And the Eagles' game against New England next week should be fun.* Also, Nick Foles returns to Jacksonville and will hopefully get to play for more than one quarter! *but not for my blood pressure

They kept pointing out that Baltimore was first in the AFC North, over and over. And with Baltimore beating the undefeated Patriots last week, it does pose a promising and exciting AFC title game if it comes down to it. I have to say, Lamar Jackson impressed me so much today from Baltimore...I hate them...but this guy makes me want them to win. Ooh, my wicked love for great football...and also hating them.
I'm an NFC guy myself, obviously, so it was really nice to see the Vikings beat the Cowboys. I really don't care who gets in or who wins it all if the Redskins aren't there, though I do like the Vikings, I still like Cousins...
Ok, back to the Redskins doing nothing. They face the 2-7 Jets next week, so that won't be too humiliating, at least they've only won one more game than the Skins. Then the Lions, always fun to lose to Detroit. Next season is gonna be great, I can feel it!

Oh, I so love it when we can combine football with a riot. What's up Cleavland, you were winning so what was the problem? I didn't see the game so I'm sure there was more to it than what I DID see, but taking someone's helmet and then beating them with it is just not cool.

That guy should be heavily fined and suspended for the rest of the season, if not released by the Browns. No place for that in the NFL. And, go figure, he's getting support from Antonio Brown.

What the hell is going on in Cleveland? Two teams Cincinnati fans hate playing a game that ended with what Cincinnati fans have wanted to see for a looong time: a straight-up brawl against the Steelers. Oh how many times have I yelled at the players on the TV to “rip his helmet off and beat him with it,” the words escaping through frothy lips? Too many to ever count. (It should come as no surprise to anyone paying even the least bit of attention that I’m a bad person, if we’re being honest.) Of course, I’d have much preferred to see Roethlisberger get his clock cleaned than the new QB who’s already just so... innocently terrible. The whole thing is rather bizarre to parse. Fascinatingly multifaceted. 1. Why was Myles Garrett, whom I’m told is supposedly a pretty good player, so intent on bringing down Mason Rudolph, whom everyone knows is not a good player and whom apparently played like hot garbage last night? In the final seconds of a game in which Hot Garbage had no chance of winning, even if the play was successful? While it can often be argued that a rusher can’t be certain whether or not a passer has already released the ball (the NFL’s preferred method of tackling a QB is a classic shoulder-to-abdomen hit that is clean but obstructs the tackler’s view), it should have been very obvious that Rudolph did not have possession of the ball since his arms were pinned to his sides and Garrett went for a bear hug tackle instead (still legal, clean, and does not obstruct the view). 2. It appears that Rudolph tried to remove Garrett’s helmet first, but was unsuccessful (add that to the long list of things he does unsuccessfully). In turn, this prompted Garrett to remove Rudolph’s helmet—successfully. The removal of another player’s helmet is both an insult and a disarming technique to make the other player vulnerable. Alternatively, a player removing their own helmet before a fight is both a way of expressing exaggerated emotional motion and a dare to attack an exposed weak point. 3. As much as I was amused by seeing Rudolph’s own helmet used as a weapon against him (the ultimate insult?), I don’t actually condone the behavior. It was dangerous and an odd escalation that didn’t have to happen. Why did Garrett lash out? It’s easy to say Rudolph posed little to no threat to him, but Garrett was facing down a group of Pittsburgh’s players with no one backing him up. Did he perceive a threat and decided to go after the weakest link preemptively? Or was it just a dick move on his part? (Probably the latter, I would imagine, but the former can’t be entirely ruled out.) 4. What was Rudolph thinking while walking aggressively toward Garrett, whom was backing away? Tensions were already running high. What was his plan? Did he assume the guy holding the helmet that has just been ripped off of Rudolph’s own head wouldn’t use it as a weapon? I don’t know if that was a ballsy or stupid assumption. More than likely he was frustrated by how he and his team had performed and by the time of the altercation he wasn’t thinking at all. Pent-up frustration turned to blind anger. 5. Garrett seemed to understand that he had messed up pretty quickly and knew when to give up. Once brought to the ground with a Steeler on top of him, he didn’t even try to fight back. He just lied there, flat on his back with his arms at his sides. I don’t know who the player on top of Garrett was, but to his credit he didn’t further retaliate and just used his body weight to subdue Garrett. 6. With #5 in mind, Pouncey intentionally kicking Garrett in the head was unacceptable and should have been more harshly condemned by the NFL. What Garrett did to Rudolph was wrong and he deserves punishment for it, but Rudolph was also mobile, unrestrained, and making aggressive moves toward Garrett at the time; even though he lacked a helmet and was struck with a weapon, Rudolph wasn’t entirely defenseless. Garrett, on the other hand, was restrained, immobile, and wasn’t even struggling when Pouncey kicked him in the head (albeit while there was head protection). There’s no excuse for that punitive blow. 7. Ogunjobi pushing Rudolph was uncalled for, but ultimately no big deal. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t consider a suspension warranted, but because the game was over and an official ejection was pointless, I suppose turning an ejection into a single game suspension makes sense. Garrett - Out for the rest of the season, at least - Fair. He brought it on himself. Pouncey - 3-game suspension - Should be longer. Ogunjobi - 1-game suspension - Fair-adjacent. Given the circumstances, it would be very difficult to come up with a suitable punishment, but this is as close as you could get. Rudolph - Maybe deserved a personal fine? He did try to remove Garrett’s helmet, and didn’t walk away from the altercation until after he had been *ahem* reacquainted with his own helmet. I’m not necessarily advocating for a fine, just saying it wouldn’t necessarily be uncalled for. He did play a role in the escalation. Both teams - $250,000 fine - OK. (I didn’t see the game, only the replays today. I’m still in “to hell with the NFL” mode given Cincinnati’s embarrassing and horrendous record this season, and don’t anticipate either of those things changing this season.) That guy should be heavily fined and suspended for the rest of the season, if not released by the Browns. No place for that in the NFL. And, go figure, he's getting support from Antonio Brown. No, he’s not. Brown’s Tweet is clearly pro-Rudolph/anti-Garrett. It’s hard to misinterpret “This is for you, Mason” with a picture of Antonio Brown kicking then-Browns’ punter Spencer Lanning in the face in 2014.

I was going to make a thread about Myles, I watched the clip I'm just like seriously? This guy gets away with attempted murder just because it's the nfl and people playing a game? What's going on in the world this day?
Even if he muttered a racial slur, or said whatever I think the guy should be banned from the nfl and put in jail for attempted assault. This is why I hate sports. High paid athletes get away with it all.
If you ask me a cop should of walked out on the field and placed everyone throwing fists in hand cuffs but since it's a sport they wont. Everyone's saying suspension and fines I'm saying throw him in jail.
Come on people it was attempted assault and could of split the guys head open. Wheres the reality at in sports?

I've come to find that there is no reality in sports and I don't think that there ever was. Both sides are being heavily fined since it seems that Rudolph may have started it...but still, I have to agree with you these players need to keep it together a little better than they did. It really did look like a hockey game there for a while. Pouncey wasn't too cool either. He should have been fined more than he was. And what is fun and expected in hockey seems to be hokey and cruel in football. Garrett's apology was lame I thought, but then he just lost his career for the year (or more). Sorry it seems that the video is blocked---- www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTTzJ52IBHQ
