I have just noticed the date I joined in here (April 2015) and thought "Wow...it will be 6 years next year, how time flies...". Then I noticed a lot of members when I first joined are just not here anymore, they have moved on or just disappeared or passed away like good old Butch, I loved it when he disappeared for weeks then I thought he must have gone away camping or fishing and sure enough, he would suddenly return and tell us all about his camping trip. This is a bit of a nostalgic thread really of times gone by in PB and this GT Thread, anybody remembers anything from way back that made you laugh or feel sad.

What's weird to me is that I joined here and created my forum in January 2003. My forum is older than some of the newest members on Proboards Support.

I think there's a tendency for me to post in threads like this that I miss the general atmosphere GT used to have but that feels low effort so I will share some specific memories for once
Deleting Syko Nachoman 's undeleteable forum was a good one. I tried to dig up the support thread from when we did this but I couldn't find it. Basically Syko had a forum that no matter how many times you tried to delete it just wouldn't delete. Here's what the security log looked like. Alas, one day I actually managed to delete it. That wasn't even the weirdest of his forums , he also had one that when you deleted it, another forum appeared in its place that had seemingly been overwritten. This is still a mystery to this day and I can't remember the URL of that one.
I miss hunting the old anomalies. People would try really hard to break the software around the start of v4. This also reminds me of the tense jurisdictional disputes about the w00bug and other names people tried to give it, conspiracy theories about missing server numbers and the fabled woopbug which put a member's join date as 1969.
And neck clicking guy. Who remembers that?

God I remember that! Was he the same guy with the 'Hime Hime' dog or am I mixing it up with another peculiarity?

God I remember that! Was he the same guy with the 'Hime Hime' dog or am I mixing it up with another peculiarity? I can't quite recall. I remember heavy censorship of neck clicking guy and being told off for taking the mick out of him though. I also seem to remember the same thread popping up on hundreds of ProBoards and non-ProBoards forums. Proper good conspiracy stuff that was.
edit: I have just remembered that the bookmarks feature exists and found one of my favourite threads ever. We used to have a password protected board for testing, and the member in this thread has somehow found it and guessed the password and is begging for forgiveness for his accidental hacking: support.proboards.com/thread/143847/sorryI am 99% sure he was serious too

That support thread is hilarious, they don't make them like that any more! Seeing Liam trying to wind up Craig brings back good memories. I think I remember looking at the PBS source code some time in 2006 and seeing that Craig had added some kind of script that trolled Liam specifically by only applying to his username but I can't remember exactly what it was.

God I remember that! Was he the same guy with the 'Hime Hime' dog or am I mixing it up with another peculiarity? These are two of my favorite things. I still get the giggles when I think of HIME HIME HIME guy and apparently my strongest association with the word "clicking" is the neck guy. This was a golden age.

I can remember wee Kaiden (in the middle of my avatar photo) when he was just 2 years old and I was in here on PB and left this laptop and went the loo when I came back into the lounge and sat down this screen had suddenly appeared with huge lettering and I thought "What the...?" wee Kaiden was playing merrily on the floor with his toys and then I worked it out, he must have gone into my Chrome settings and enlarged the zoom onto something like 200.
He turned 6 now last week and walks around nattering away, just started his primary school from the Nursery, he knows how to load a laptop to play games etc, god, how time flies by.

I remember in 2006 being so over-excited because the internet was still quite new to me (i'd just turned 13) I'd made a harry potter forum and i finally felt like I was somewhere I belonged, it was a place to escape from the horrible kids at school. Over the last few years the internet feels like I'm back at school again, but now theres nowhere for me to escape to.
Thats really depressing lol.. Maybe I need to start coming on here more often again aha!

I joined in 2008, was still fairly new to the forums. I was quite active for a good while, retired after meeting my husband. But after something happened I rather not talk about I got back into the swing of things, I’m always looking for new forums to join. But everything that’s more modern seems so foreign to me, I feel like I’m way to old school to fit in anywhere.
