Forum URL: imdb2.freeforums.netHi. Again. The search field for "where the thread title contains" produces no results. All other fields seem to be ok. Also, hitting the browser's "back" button after performing a search clears the fields. It just started doing that recently on Firefox and Edge. I haven't tried any other browsers. It's not really a big deal, but it is slightly annoying.

Search sometimes omits popular words which would mean they're not located. It may alternatively be the case that your search needs re-indexing by the ProBoards staff.

It works ok for me on this forum as well. Not so much on mine, though. Hello, As for your first issue, can you give us a couple of examples of things you are searching? All thread title searches produce "no posts found." Actual recent examples: trump, queen, history, universe, election, beatles, movie... All of which are definitely there to be found in spades. These terms work just fine in the other search fields, which makes me wonder if a re-index is the solution, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt. I'm sure the staff here will get around to it if they feel it might resolve this issue. More than likely, it's operator error.

Hi jcarterA re-index is easy for the ProBoards Admins to do, but from the testing I've done, I don't think that's the problem. I also don't think it's operator error. When I enter a word I expect to see in a thread title on your forum and use the "where the thread title contains" field to enter the word, the search comes up empty. When I search for the same word but use the "with at least one of the words' field to input the word (and select output as threads) I can see results that include that word in the title.
I tried the same thing on the Support Forum and on two forums on which I participate. Same results. Other searches work, searches using the "where the thread title contains" field always come up empty. This leads me to suspect there may be a programming problem with that part of the search utility. When the ProBoards Admins are online tomorrow, they'll probably have the systems team and/or developer team investigate. That might take some time, but you're likely to get a reply from someone tomorrow at some time during the office hours for the ProBoards Admins. Their hours can be found here: link

Yes, but that includes all threads with that query anywhere in them, not just the ones with it in the thread title. Interesting. When I clicked Caajscot (John) 's link above, I saw the results and just assumed it was working here for me as well. But when I actually go to the search page and try it myself, I get nothing. The result pages' URL's are exactly the same, though. Weird. For now, I'm just happy someone else sees it. Thanks, Retread .

I think that's because Caajscot (John) 's link is to a search where the words 'where the thread title contains' were entered into the 'with at least one of the words' field

jcarter, I did submit a reindex for the forum. If the issue continues, please provide a link (or 2) to threads you expected to find and the key words used for the search.

Hi,
This isn't an index issue but just one with thread title search specifically. We're aware of the issue and hope to have it corrected soon.
