How was proboards.com started?

It was created as a message board service on January 1, 2000 for some reason. That's all I know.

One kid had a dream to build the biggest and best message baord in the world.....and then patrick came, saw and went and did it bigger and better.....and no one has seen him since ...

47 years ago a Mr Patrick Clinger was thinking of how to bring the online community together with their interests and while on a hiking trip to boomshakkaman region of Mexico came up with the idea of forums.

Once back he made his first forum from 2 packets of Kornflakes and 4 boot laces...This became known as Version1.


Blah de blah.

A few years ago Mr Clinger altered some coding and added some of his own to make Proboards.

Go to google.com and add (The way back machine)+Proboards to see what the early versions looked like.

Patrick and his team of clingons constructed Proboards with their bare hands, after doing so, he celebrated with a glass of milk and cookies. Than went up the sewer and back to his house in California. His clingons remain here.

Well basically you code a forum system, buy a server or some hosting space, and then begin hosting the forums for people that sign up for one.

I suppose it starts just like your Forum started. You had an idea, you followed through with it, people joined your board, the ideas grew, your members grew, and now you have a Version 4. Wolah!
