For making things happen? Imagination or Intelligence?
I have known people of both types: those who poses the technical skills to do something but don't really seem to have a clue on how to apply it to anything beyond the known and predictable, and those who scheme and dream and have great ideas but no knowledge of how to make it work.
It seems to me that imagination is the child of curiosity, and though curiosity you gain the ability to apply the knowledge you acquire in a wider variety of venues.

Imagination, definitely!! I work with tons of highly skilled technical people, but have found that they have a very narrow focus when it comes to problem solving. I once walked into a room where they had been trying to figure out a solution for hours and I solved it within 5 minutes because I am one of those people who can see outside the normal parameters. You can give me a puzzle and I can figure out 10 solutions.

Imagination, ecspecially for the reasons maven stated above. Also, and imaginative person will eventually learn the the intelect needed to reach his/her goal. Without imagination, we may still be driving around in horse carriages.

I prefer a mix of both. About 50/50.
If they are too intelegent, and have little imagination they do not know what to do with the intelegence they have!
If they have alot of imagination and not mutch intelegence, then they can't use their imagination for anything practicle.
However if you have an even mix of intelegence and imagination, THEN the magic happens. Movies like Starwars are made, Devices like the Microchip that changes the world are invented, Ausome computer games are created!
That and if you are all brains and no imagination you are no fun for me to talk to. ANd of you are all imagination and no brains you will never be able to keep up with me.

Also history has proven time and time again. This is an absolute certain fact. When you have 3,000 so called experts in their field ...saying something that can not be done, that it is impossible... these are practical logical minds... A Single Dreamer of great purportion comes along and proves those 3,000 so called experts wrong .
Example : The said mach one was never going to be achieved back in those days ... it was only impossible until Aldrin ,and Yeager both did it,cant remember which one did it first. But both men were dreamers .They were of average intelligence as well , not geniuses , and not stupid either, just big time dreamers.

Imagination and intelligence They’re both important and they go well to together. The Wright brothers imagined that birds weren’t the only ones that could roam through the air and their intelligence made a whole new world/ universe to discover. Imagination is the pre step intelligence is the next, you can’t have one without the other.

In my opinion, Intelligence/knowledge can be measured easier because it has boundaries and limits.
Imagination/creativity has no boundaries. I don't think it’s just me, but maybe it is, who typically thinks of intelligence as more 3 R's than other types of "smarts". I think creativity is an incredibly important skill.

To be honest, its hard to have a career just on Imagination unless you have a skill that cant get it down to earth (writer, painter, etc). with Intelligence you can go along way, but nonetheless their both are very important. I mean what do you think Proboards was created with Imagination or intelligence, both right?
