The day it happens to be dictates how tolerant I am. If it's a good day, I'm pretty tolerant, if it's a bad day, my tolerance level goes down to about zero.
The thing that gets me most, is when someone is flat out wrong, and will not shut up long enough to hear a different point of view because they don't even want to admit that there is a slight chance they are wrong. They could think the sky is green, yet if you tell them to look up, that it is blue, they refuse to because they know it is green.
Beyond that I'm a pretty easy going person.

*giggles8 have you ever gotten to the point where you said enough is enough? If so what did you do? and did you feel bad after wards? I actually can say that I don't really ever get to that point. I figure that since I'm an obnoxious little brat myself, I shouldn't hold others to a higher standard than I do for myself. This makes it easier to get along with people, since I'm not constantly trying to find fault with them. Once I understand the fact that they're humans, I'll allow them to make mistakes, and to just brush things off. So I can't really say.

I can be tolerant, real tolerant. But at times, its kinda hard not to be tolerant. Because how can you be tolerant to people that are obnoxious to you the moment you wake up? KInda what I am in right now, almost every other day I wake up to my brother making his pretend "Wookie" sounds that doesnt even sound like it. Plus every day non stop he keeps doing this wierd whistle by cupping his hands on his mouth to try to make it sound louder. Geez!

One way of letting it all out is, blast the hard rock with classical music, then, use white out on a peice of black paper and stare at it for 30 minutes you feel very strange afterwards but it works!

being homeschooled we learn to tollerate more Being homeschooled, you come into less contact with other people, and are therefore less aware of other cultures, beliefs, and attitudes. How would you say that that makes you learn to tolerate more?

On the other side of the coin, being teached in a multi cultural school doesnt always guarantee tolerance, after all, how many Islamic fundamentalists, Far Right white supremacists, extreme socialists were educated in such an environment here in England?

Of course not, and I don't believe tolerance is solely due to who you meet. However, ignoring the race issue for a moment and focusing on the original point just about tolerating other people, I don't think being homeschooled (compared to any other form of education) helps that at all.

Fair enough, but the way things are going in England with education at present, what with bullying, class disruption, under funding, there has been a rise in people self teaching their kids at home, i noticed a news item on this last year, cant remember if it was the national news or London.

Being home schooled, you come into less contact with other people, and are therefore less aware of other cultures, beliefs, and attitudes. How would you say that that makes you learn to tolerate more? On the other side of the coin, being teched in a multi cultural school doesn't always guarantee tolerance, after all, how many Islamic fundamentalists, Far Right white supremacists, extreme socialists were educated in such an environment here in England? You can never guarantee anything. However, if one is brought up around those of other cultures then the likelihood of that child becoming intolerant of those cultures is smaller. A child brought up in a small white family, home schooled, and just taught what the parents know will have a much greater chance at becoming intolerant of others, as they'll just have the ignorant views from the parents. Take for example an orphan, a white female. If that orphan is adopted into an African American family then there is a VERY small chance of the child becoming racist. The child will know very well what African Americans are like, thus will have non-ignorant views about them. Intolerance is primarily caused due to ignorant and false views on others. Somebody brought up around other cultures won't develop those ignorant views so easily as one only brought up around those of the same culture.
