Maybe you do remember but just don't realize it. Your recovery answers are case sensative. At least in rsc they were. I don't even think I set any recovery questions, only because it was a one off account. I'm not really worried about getting it back it's just the fact they locked my account for trying to get it unmuted.

Well if you didn't set any recoveries that is a big problem. The only other way I remember you can sort of get it back is if you remember a past password you had on that account. Again, that may have been a part of the recovery question process I just don't remember.

I know the CS sucks. I tried appealing a ban and mute but they denied it saying "We have evidence that you were in control of your account" when my appeal did not say anything related to that.

One of my unused accounts on RuneScape has been muted for nearly two years now, but I thought I would check out the appeal offence / ban page (because I was bored) and I noticed they gave me another chance to appeal. The offence was a virus that put a link in the text where ever the text cursor was. The first time i appealed I explained to them that I got rid of the virus and that it wouldn't happen again, but oh no, they disaproved my appeal. So, a couple of days ago I appeal again, saying that I now have a new computer with no trace of the virus and they locked my account! They said that they thought it was stolen so locked it, I filled out the recover a locked account form, but it was over 2 years ago since I created it, so I couldn't remember anything. But they still say no and say that it was stolen. They need new customer support people, who wants to hack and take over a level 25?! [/rant] I have moved on to bigger and better things since the days of RuneScape.

Well it could have been a lot of things. It's a good thing it wasn't an account of any importance to you.

DarkLight, did you ask to see the evidence? I viewed the evidence before forming my appeal, and neither Jagex's reply nor the "evidence" gave any sufficient reason as to why Jagex banned and muted me (well, at least they were temp.)

I'd be worried about their support if they hadn't locked it.

It's always been like that. I have a level 122 locked for about 7 months now, still no response on my recoveries. They just don't care about non=members .

DarkLight, did you ask to see the evidence? Unfortunately they don't have to reveal the evidence. It's just like XBL. They can ban you at the drop of a hat for no reason at all and whether or not you can come back is entirely at their whim. Eve just set up a sting operation that started autobanning IP's of visitors who complained about security holes.
