'Cliques': When a little group of friends make the group and their having a wild time, then you say hi in the chatbox and they ignore you.
Grammar Hitlers: Okay, I admit I'm a Grammar Nazi, but if someone posts less than 200 words I don't throw a fit because I don't care. I honestly hate when people think a post length beats writing quality. I can go on for ages about one subject, but would it be any good or interesting to read? Most likely no.
Popularity Contests: Like member/character of the month. I mean no. Hate them.

You must have read my post where I complain about a clique that controlled the board I use to be a member of. lol As for Grammar Nazis. I'm a spelling Nazi, and will correct somebody online if I think they know me well enough to know that my family comes to me for a spell check. I just can not turn it off!

Okay. I know everyone isn't the best at spelling, but honestly. Pro boards has a spell check. I think spelling and grammar should be enforced. Definitely don't go over the top and warn a member or ban them for being a bad speller, but maybe point out the spell check. I hate when on RPGs I have to read through a post that makes no sense.

Would this be a do or don't in your opinion? Should an Admin create a totally separate login to maintain equity? Like have one (business) Admin login and then a separate personal login just to post and respond to messages I have to logins. Admin for business as you say and then another one so I can postas me. Keeps things separate. I have two hats.

It is, forums do not accept below age 13 to register. But if it is shared account it's allowed, because usually do the talking is adult as they relay message from child.

I have noticed before some Admins actually being cold and not very welcoming to new members while to co admins and stuff they are always chatting and stuff. I definitely know that problem has turned me away from a forum before! Just always try and involve new members I would say.

I found the to be the opposite with one Site. The two admins were nice, while their co-admin (one of them) turns out to be a total witch. Pardon the language thou.

One major do not for me is do not let people become staff just because they ask. I don't actually do this but I see many admins who do and to me I'm sat going 'what?!'

Adding to this DO NOT let under experienced member become an admin...it's an disaster waiting to happen. A friend of mine pointed this out when I was talking to him.

I don't mind someone who may not have experience as an admin becoming admin - though I tend to promote incrementally - you're always starting off as global mod at the highest till I need a second admin and a new global mod. During this point I'll be 'teaching' you how to do most the admin jobs anyway.

True.
That's where the difference is from climbing up the ladder and learning, than to giving it to someone who was just there and goes gung ho and takes sides and doesn't take in the WHOLE picture into account when situations or complaints arises.

For me I always insist on members climbing the ladder. A manager wouldn't allow a new person to jump in straight in managers position would they? So why would an admin let a new person jump straight onto admin position?

I have no idea, but speaking from a recent experience it seemed that an admin who dealt with a situation was little inexperienced.
