My "problem" board (one of three) is working fine now. Patrick, do you mind telling us what the issue was - is there something we need to do should this issue come up again? Thanks.

Basically we spent a long time looking at any possible redirects in our code and were testing without them. These same exact redirects (javascript based) have been running fine for years now. It doesn't even make sense to me or Martyn why the changes we made would fix the problem, quite honestly, but we're hoping that it has.

Thanks Patrick - The main thing is that it is fixed; my thanks to you and your fine crew for your hard work - much appreciated.

My Vista Home Premium machine gave trouble; all my XP machines ok.
What I had done initially was to copy the URL into Favourites and from there generate a Shortcut to my desktop.
A few days ago I installed IE8 and from then trouble, reverting to IE7 did not cure it.
Loading from Favourites always worked but the desktop icon route didn’t.
I did change the desktop icon appearance some time back.
My next move was to delete the desk top icon, and to generate a new desktop shortcut but use the default appearance.
This works fine and has done so for a day or so. I have reinstalled IE8 and everything is still ok.
I’m not clever enough to know if conflicts can occur by changing desktop icons etc. The cure in my case was a suck it and see job and it has worked for me.
Incidentally the URL’s were identical in favourites and DT.

@ puter, the appearance of the deskyop icon shouldn't make a difference, it's basically just an image hyperlink. Depending on how the shortcut was created, it's possible that you copied a space at one end of the url.

Are you still experiencing this issue? If so please follow the directions in the first post of this thread. I've had no complaints from members since you updated at 10pm Pacific, will post again with details if it still appears to be a problem Thanks

wonderinglu.proboards.com/index.cgi One minute my board was fine, and the next it started jumping, and not loading fully. That's been three days ago. Still waiting for some answers. dwf2k6.proboards52.com 1) Please fully describe exactly what the problem you are experiencing is. The board will not appear. It goes directly to the Main Proboards Site 2) What browser are you using? IE 8 3) What version number is it? Usually under the help section of your browser there will be an "About Internet Explorer" or "About Firefox" link which will bring up the version number. For example, I am posting using Internet Explorer version 8.0.6001.18372 8.0.6001.18702IC 4) Do you use any anti-virus software? If so what type including version number? AVG 8.5.287 Free 5) Are you attempting to access the forum via a bookmark? If so: I have tried both with and without a Bookmark.. Neither work 5.1) Go into your Manage Bookmarks section of your browser and copy the exact URL that is bookmarked and paste it as your reply for 5.1. 5.2) After you open this bookmark in your browser, what does the URL say at the top of your browser when it is looping (copy and paste it exactly please)? 5.3) Try deleting the bookmark and typing in the URL to the forum manually. Are you able to access the forum this way? In Any event, it goes straight to the Main proboards Site I'm guessing that either the board has been deleted or the 52 server is down... Please Contact me ASAP... Chairman Andrews

okay, here you go, for those with the refreshing proble, its easy to fix. Follow these steps. First off memorize your boards url or write it down, then deleate the bookmark, this wotn fix it, even if you try to acess it. Now go to "internet properties" and deleate all cookies, temp files, and history. Now you should be able to acess the boards no problem, oddly you can even make a new bookmark and it'll be fine to acess from it.
It's some odd mix of problems with your comps updates and processes, and he coding of the boards, once you start from a clean slate its all fixed. odd...

wonderinglu.proboards.com/index.cgiPlease read this before putting up another link...I have NO PROBLRMS getting on my board. When I come on the board, it's jumpy, when I scroll.....it doesn't load all the way. You can see the print is lighter. I went through the litany of all the suggestions, and nothing works. I have NO PROBLEM using my proboards practice board. Only on my site. I just cleared my history, my cookies, and typed in the url of my board, and it still jumps. Please, take a look at it! Thank You.

Many people have used the word "Jumpy" to describe the web pages when they visit them, but we are not getting a clear answer on what exactly you mean by this. It is hard to diagnose a problem if explicit details of the issue are not posted. Please do your best to tell us what is happening to your browser without using vague terms like "jumpy"
Thank you
