Rules and Protocols of your forum

Well I do have rules on my site the reason .Because I work for Dominick's a part of Safeway .They have in the past hired paid employees to troll some websites .This all goes on during labor talks .As of right now I had to close it down to only registered members only .This had happened at other proboards websites that Safeway workers post at .

I personally don't like it when (& I just saw this on another board) Staff tell you you MUST introduce yourself before you post anywhere else.
I have a board on my forum where members can introduce themselves if they want, but it isn't a must.
Some people like to remain private & browse, & post if they want to. And I think we should respect that privacy.
I like to remain somewhat of a mystery because I don't feel like telling all, but it shouldn't be a rule when there are other more important things IMHO

Of course! We all have things we wish to keep private. Sharing our private info should not be necessary. I feel having to introduce yourself forceful.

But I don't think sites that have just 3 rules are good either. Sites and forums need to maintain some rules to keep the forums peaceful.

However, that doesn't mean you should have to introduce yourself.

On the forum I mod at, the staff creates a new thread for each new member. If they wish to post in it they are welcome to do so, but don't have to. We have 11 rules with an explantion for each rule.

For example one rule is no illegal activities, then goes in to explaining no rom request or giving, hotlinking images, etc.

a lot of people dont have the rule of no sexual content, which should be one since its against the terms of service. we have it at sftc, even though it is still a mature-rated site people are just supposed to skip over those obscure scenes and what not. its actually not that bad.

I would consider most rules to be the basic rules of communication. Pretty much rules that include not swearing and bad behavior to others is the usual.

I don't like it when there's extensive rules that include not letting people post in a board because they don't have a significant status or rules like that. All that will do is make others feel excluded and they'll probably leave the forum.

Well my rules are (1)Dont post any personal information about any members !It result in being banned !

(2)Please dont personaly attack any members by race ,sex , mentally challaged ,national orgin or union affiliation ,religion ,color!This will result in being delated and some cases banned !

(3)All troll post will be moderated and in some cases will be delated and some cases banned .

(4)More rules will be posted when needed.

(5)Dont post any internal Safeway information .This will result in your membership being banned !

(6) All proboards rules.
