Yes, imo you should tone it down. I felt the blue and green were a bit too much,
But it is still creative and colorful!

I changed some of that blue to a more ice blue. Would it look much better if I went through and changed it all to that?

It's an improvement but the green still a bit distracting. IMO I think you should keep the BG just brown and then you could add some green into the boards or whatever.

I think the blue and green are fine, the only color that really bothers my eyes is the really light color (it's like a really light blue) that makes up the horse's mane and part of the wolf's body.

I dunno. Most of the members will spend a majority of their time not at the top, but below the main banner so the green doesn't show as much.

EDIT: Jaero, I just added that and they said it was better. H/o one sec while I change it back so you can see what it was like before.

firstly i think the concept is adorable. xD

but on to the actual opinion. i actually don't mind the green. :3 the issue i'm having is with the brown. you have a green and teal which are on one end of the spectrum, and a brown which is on the opposite end [in terms of vibrancy]. try and go with a more "similar" hue of brown. I can't really explain it very well. xD i hope you can understand what i mean about the shades being on opposite ends of the spectrum.

I have to agree with Kami, that is a pretty darn cute concept.

The banner is just darling. The only thing I can think of that I would (possibly) have changed is maybe adding a little something on the right, like a bush or tree or plant to mimic the horse/wolf design and then (maybe again) just a very loose line to indicate where the horses head/jaw ends and then a tiny line into the neck to show the jaw of the wolf. (I hope you get what I mean.)

I'm not totally opposed to the the dark brown border background but in order to get the brown text to match, it needs to a couple shades darker.

I'm not sure if this is where Kami is coming from but the way I see it, in order for the brown to really work you'd need bold amounts of it elsewhere. (like you have in the hooves of the horse but more of it) As it is, the brown lines around the horse and wolf are very thin. If you are using primarily semi-dark pastels for everything else, your contrasting color may look better as a semi-dark pastel brown.

I'm also not sure I could live with the brown slanted top (under the horse/wolf). Not sure if that is part of the banner or a main head image or a border- to lazy to look....but it may have looked better if it looked like terrain with bumps and hills, etc...or with slight curves or extremely slanted so one knows it was intentional. As it is, it looks like a goof up.

I like the manila folder-like head images but they need to be done on a better program so the curves aren't so ragged.

But gosh, it is sooooo cute! Truth be told, I could live with it without any changes at all, because it is so creative.

@ tumbleweed - that's exactly what i'm saying. xD as it is, it's only a thin border with that colour, then all of a sudden BAM! board background. there's not enough of it, currently, to make the background "jive" with the rest of the colour scheme. lol, thanks for articulating what i couldn't. =3

Hmm, so you guys think it would be best for the now teal to be a soft brown? I dunno, brown by its nature is really just dark orange. So I figured teal would work. Am I understanding you correctly? And I see now that the slant looks like a mistake. I will try out hills, but I have a feeling those will look funny. I'm redoing the category headers, thanks for pointing that out.

not me. =] i think you should make the brown that's currently there a softer brown. i have no problem with the teal/aqua colours. =]

It looks like my bedroom, with the wolves and horses too, wierd...

I love the skin really, it's very easy on my sensative eyes, the colors flow well together, and it's sort of comforting for me.
