I see the one I'm after, was there an option to download there?

I see the one I'm after, was there an option to download there? The entire Helvetica family is made up of commercial fonts. There is no place online to legally download any of them for free.

Then how did I have them before and not pay? Must have been part of a program I had at one time. But that would have come with a Star Trek program and I haven't removed any of those

Helvetica is a family older than Star Trek. Any program could have had it bundled for whatever reason.

I s'pose you're right. Wonder what happened to it. Obviously I had it for a while. Well, this kinda sucks ;D I don't have any exact matches, but dafont has some that came somewhat close. Remember, if you're using a graphics program, you can adjust letter spacing so that you get the right effect: www.dafont.com/bebas-neue.font?nb_ppp=50&text=STAR+TREKwww.dafont.com/hplhs-prop-fonts.d614?nb_ppp=50&text=STAR+TREKwww.dafont.com/cafeta.font?nb_ppp=50&text=STAR+TREKI went ahead and typed in 'STAR TREK' as the example text. Personally, I think the first font is the closest, based on the style of the 'S' and the 'R' as compared in your sig. I also found this site: members.outpost10f.com/~lindax/hp/multimedia/star_trek_fonts.htmli'm not sure if that's what you're looking for, and I couldn't see anything regarding copyright, so i dunno. =/ Also, www.acidfonts.com/typeface/star_trek.htmAs an added bonus, there's also this wingbats font for star trek - www.fontspace.com/kiwi-media/trekbatsxD i hope these are useful in some way. =]

Impact which is a default font on windows is not entirely dissimilar also. I set the width to 70% in photoshop and I couldn't really tell the difference. Helvetica is a default font on macs if you have access to one so that you can transfer it over but otherwise there's no legal way of getting it free. Not entirely sure doing that's legal either - I suspect the font license probably restricts it to use on that computer only.

That first one is the closest match yet. Thank you thank you thank you ;D Everyone that has helped on this I really appreciate it. I think I can finish my project now eventually. You know how those go, are they ever really finished?

I don't go looking for fonts but two fonts I really like are Quartz and Joystix. I used to like Cityscape where letters were cleverly made into typical city buildings when I was young.

OK, I'm not losing it. The font I need is still on my computer. It's my Photoshop messing it up. For some reason CS3 is making the font go to italics making it look wrong. I just tried remaking the button I need in Animation Factory and it came out perfect Anyone know what's going on with my CS3? I haven't used it in ages so I don't know if I changed any settings or not Same font placed on the same blank done with CS3:

The drop down doesn't give any options at all. That's what's causing my confusion here
