Please post game suggestions here.
Please note that games with no real purpose (e.g. "count to a million/billion/trillion!") will not be accepted. The game should be simple and end up having real content to it that is interesting for people to read and participate in.

there's that game where people say "i want to see a photo of blahblahblah", and the next poster has to find one, and then ask for photo. Like "I want a photo of a purple dinosaur" or "I want a photo of a dancing cat" "I want a photo of a chocolate sandwich". Stuff like that.
It sounds rubbish, but I remember on one board I joined ages ago, it was really funny

Hmm, ok, how about a role playing style game of truth or dare?
Members can ask a person if they want to answer a question or do a dare in a role playing style type. If a person doesn't respond within 24 hours, they lose the turn and it's next up.
Sort of like, I dare to you to take Robert's hat while he films his movie.. And the person writes back, 'Sneaks in while Robert is filming and grabs his cowboy hat and runs off with it.'
For the truth questions, that might be tricky, some ground rules will need to be laid out as to not get too personal with them.
*Shrugs* could be for some interesting fun.

OOO maybe a caption game kind of like the photo one that one of these cool members suggested but it could be random pics and you can come up with the funniest captions.

Maybe each person could provide a caption for the picture in the post above theirs, and then post their own picture for the person below them to caption.

Celebrity Hot or Not game! Here's what you do:
Celebrity Name (Can be ANYONE) Hot or Not?
Here's what you do in response to someone else:
Hot and/or Not (What you think of the celebrity above you)
Celebrity Name Hot or Not?
It's simple and fun. I've placed this on tons of different sites, varying from proboards sites, to outside sources. Neat, huh?

We have a thread called "One Good Thing" that is popular on my forum. The concept is simple, just post one good thing that happened to you that day.
The "Love Above" thread is fun too. Just post one reason why you 'love' the person that posted before you. It doesn't have to be anything personal, some of my members post things like "I love Karen because she has Adam Lambert as her avatar." or "I love ____ because her signature makes me laugh." or "I love Megan because she's nice to everyone here." It's similar to the threads I see on here sometimes about "What do you think of these members?" But anyone could join in just by posting instead of signing up beforehand.
I like the caption idea too. We had a long running contest on my forum called "Create-a-Caption." But it could be modified as a game here. Perhaps instead of members entering captions for just one image and then voting on the best, instead as a game, each poster would add a caption to an image the member above them has posted and then include a pic of their own for the next poster to write a caption for? Opps, just noticed Syko said the exact same thing. Sorry dear...
Chain Reaction - Simple game where someone posts a word and the next member posts the first thing they thought of when they saw it. For example: First post: Orange. In which someone might post "Crush" then maybe "Blush" followed by "Red" followed by "Blood."
Keep a word, Drop a word - Just like the name says, I might post "High school." The next poster might then post, "Mile high," then the next might post, "Mile marker," etc., etc.
Just a few ideas from The Playground board on my forum.

I like the ideas for the quick little games that currently exist in this board and the others suggested above. In addition to these quick games actively being played, I think there could be some bigger, more strategic games being played, possibly as a monthly game. These bigger, social-strategic games would run in rounds and last for about a week or two, and then be locked after the game is over and winners announced, unlike the current arrangement of ongoing games in this board. These main games would be like The Werewolf Game, Who's the Boss, Wink Murders... and I know of tons more. These types of games require sign-ups, a forum moderator to run the voting and rounds of the games, and a week or two to complete the game. Maybe even game-show or trivia type games could be played this way! I'd be willing to elaborate further on types of games like the ones listed above, and how to play, if anyone's interested in some ideas for the Games Forum. In a thread in GT regarding the game board, I was asked to elaborate on how to effectively play the Werewolf game in a forum setting, so I'll paste my post here: The Werewolf Game rules by Trill (ghbraingle) these rules may only be used at support.proboards.com and godricshollow.info do not remove header, please
The Werewolf Game is essentially a social strategy game with an uninformed majority against an informed minority. Thus, all participants are divided into two separate groups - the Werewolves and the Humans. The ratio between Werewolves to Humans is roughly 1:4. Identities are distributed randomly at the start of the game by the game moderator.
Overview of Game Play Each round consists of a day and a night. During the day, everyone discovers who was eaten during the previous night and discusses who they think is a Werewolf. A vote is taken and one player is shot with a silver bullet (the only way to kill a werewolf). During the night, the Werewolves pick one Human to eat. This player is out of the game and the round is over. During the night, everyone is asleep, so nobody is allowed to post messages to the game.
Werewolves The Werewolves know who the other Werewolves are, but their identities are a secret from the Humans. If you are a Werewolf, you don't want the Humans to find out. During the day, a Werewolf should act like a human. At the same time, they should try to protect themselves and the other Werewolves from being shot with the silver bullet. A Werewolf will vote, along with the Humans, to select someone to be shot with a silver bullet. During the night, each Werewolf transforms into their animal form. A secret vote is taken and the Human with the most votes is eaten.
Humans The Humans do not know the identity of anyone else in the game. Through discussion, it is the goal of the Humans to identify the Werewolves and eliminate them. During the day, everyone discusses who they think is a werewolf. A vote is taken and one player (hopefully a Werewolf) is shot with a silver bullet. During the night, the Humans sleep. When everyone wakes up, one Human will have been eaten.
Seer One of the Humans is a powerful Seer who can divine the identity of one player per day/round. During the day the Seer may select one player to magically identify. If the Seer survives the night, they will be told if the player they selected is a human or werewolf at the start of the next round / day. The Seer votes along with everyone else. If the Seer is eaten, they are out of the game and their divining abilities are no longer available. The Seer is one of the major targets for the Werewolves, so it may be best that the Seer doesn’t reveal his/her identity.
Voting During the day portion of each round, everyone votes for a player (hopefully, a Werewolf if you’re human) to shoot with a silver bullet. All voting is done via PM to the game moderator. At the end of the day part of the round, the game moderator will post all votes publicly. Therefore, everyone knows whom everyone else voted for during the day. The voting will end instantly as soon as any player has a majority of the votes. If no majority is reached by the voting deadline, the player with the most votes will be chosen. During the night portion of each round, the Werewolves vote to eat one person. This voting is done secretly. The werewolves are not allowed to talk to each other privately and they will not know who the other werewolves voted for. Each werewolf will pick the top 3 people that they want to eat. Once all the votes are in, or the deadline has been reached, the votes will be tallied and one Human will be eaten. In the event of a tied vote, someone tied with the most votes will be chosen at random.
Winning The Humans win the game if all the werewolves have been shot by a silver bullet. The Werewolves win when the number of humans is equal to the number of werewolves, at which point the werewolves eat the remaining humans.
Outside conversations Players should not discuss the game or game strategies through other communication platforms. The only game discussions should take place in the game thread during the day part of the round. No outside alliances are permitted in order to keep the game fair and keep all game discussion in the game thread.
I also have written a set of rules for Wink Murders and I have ran that game at my forum, so I could paste the rules for that, if anyone is interested.
