I can't figure out what's wrong with a particular page on my site. It's got an embedded YouTube video on it, and it's not showing my AdSense to the left or bottom of the page (note this is on the website portion, not the ProBoards portion). I'm viewing in FireFox, and have completely redone the page twice, yet the ads I mention refuse to show for me. However, on another page with another YouTube video, the ads are showing. This is the page the ads are not showing on: slowdownstupid.niobe132004.net/crashes/funny/20090530-america-topless-truck.htmlThis is the other page with another YT vid where the ads do show: slowdownstupid.niobe132004.net/crashes/funny/20100125-turkey-istanbul-truck-destroys-footbridge.htmlSo... What have I done wrong on the page in which they don't show? Layout coding is exactly the same, I just swapped from using paragraph tags in the content to break tags... It hasn't fixed it... And it's frustrating the heck out of me... Please help? Thank you in advance. - Niobe. P.S.: Jordan, if you're the one to answer this, I may need some help with that menu after all, to remote, but I'll take a good, long hard look at it first (a harder longer look than I've done so far lol)... It should work with the menu itself, the actual table, remoted too, shouldn't it? ;D Edit: I forgot to mention, the ads display on that page when the page is locally hosted, but not once it's uploaded. :-\

It appears it's because Firefox has been tightening up on security which is a good thing. On the page that the ad doesn't appear on a security error is given. Security Error: Content at googleads.g.doubleclick.net/ may not load data from slowdownstupid.niobe132004.net/crashes/funny/20090530-america-topless-truck.html. I googled this and it seems that it's not your fault but Google's. doubleclick.net just seems to be acquired by google, and therefore it suddenly appears inside your google ads. But doubleclick is infamous for unwanted cookies and other foul marketing tricks so any sensible webmaster blocks doubleclick from te start anyway.
The solution is to go into your adsense config and BLOCK the doubleclick.net and doubleclick.com domains.
And to google: clean up doubleclicks marketing strategies before you get google itself blocked. -Source doubleclick.net is trying to access something that it doesn't have permission to do so Firefox is protecting you. P.S.: Jordan, if you're the one to answer this, I may need some help with that menu after all, to remote, but I'll take a good, long hard look at it first (a harder longer look than I've done so far lol)... It should work with the menu itself, the actual table, remoted too, shouldn't it? You're wanting to know if it will work if everything is remotely hosted? Yes, it should. Just show me what you have and I can take a look.

Doubleclick.net is responsible for giving me something - numerous times - that makes my speakers snick at me at random times... I normally have that cookie blocked in-browser, and I think I have doubleclick.com blocked too... But that's just the browser, that doesn't affect AdSense... lol... But I'm dubious and blocking them through my AdSense settings, I don't get much revenue as it is (you can probs see why lol), and if that drops to absolutely nothing... Well, what's the sense in having AdSense at all? :-\ But, thank you for the information and thread, I can stop being so frustrated now... Maybe I'll go dig for an email address I can contact them on (and watch them blame the page coding for it lol) For the menu, I still haven't looked at it very hard yet (got sidetracked on some 9/11 vids on YouTube), but I have had a look at the " Dynamically defining your flex menu contents" part, and to be honest, not understanding DHTML one iota (yet), I don't understand it... I don't know whether my 30-year-old self is at a point where learning anything new is difficult (I hope not, I love learning), or whether it's because I haven't managed to sleep a full night in a month (I need 8 hours' a night, no matter what I did the day before), or for some other reason, but trying to get a grasp on even that at the moment is like trying to read an alien language... And it really, really sucks, because I'm quickly coming to realise, decent pages use elements that aren't just HTML and CSS... I'm sure I can figure it out, but at how I feel every time I look at it at the moment, it's going to be a long time coming... :-\ I know it's probably not the right thing to ask... But could I get you to explain it to me in... *gulps; feels very dumb* layman's terms for the moment? Or, maybe set up a working remote file for me to study exactly what you do, so I can learn that way? I'm sorry, I really feel dumb at the moment... :-\ BTW, I read Rick Ace's thread... Didn't want to break rules, so I'll say it here... I began learning HTML and CSS by playing with the V3 source code... First page I ever put online duplicated their methods (and I can still remember while I was coding it, thinking to myself, "I'll probably look back at this in 3 or 4 years and wonder what I was thinking..." And... That's exactly what happened ) I don't see too much of a problem beginning to learn on PB's source, just make sure you find other sites which help straighten out what they get wrong (like their <br> instead of <br /> lol)... I mention this because I would have thought if there were coding errors on SDS, you would have pointed them out... - Niobe. ;D

I normally have that cookie blocked in-browser, and I think I have doubleclick.com blocked too... But that's just the browser, that doesn't affect AdSense... lol... I could be wrong, but I believe Firefox is blocking the entire ad because of doubleclick.net trying to screw around. When the ad loads it probably gives some control to the advertiser and if they do something Firefox doesn't like then it just blocks the entire script. For the menu, I still haven't looked at it very hard yet (got sidetracked on some 9/11 vids on YouTube), but I have had a look at the " Dynamically defining your flex menu contents" part, and to be honest, not understanding DHTML one iota (yet), I don't understand it... I'm sure I can figure it out, but at how I feel every time I look at it at the moment, it's going to be a long time coming... :-\ Sleep will definitely help ;P, but it most likely doesn't make sense because DHTML is many things. W3schools describes it as the combination of "HTML, JavaScript, the HTML DOM, and CSS." If you don't have a good background in JavaScript and understand the Document Object Model then it won't make sense to you even if you understand HTML and CSS. Basically, if you know Javascript then you know DHTML since Javascript requires that you understand them all. I know it's probably not the right thing to ask... But could I get you to explain it to me in... *gulps; feels very dumb* layman's terms for the moment? Or, maybe set up a working remote file for me to study exactly what you do, so I can learn that way? I'm sorry, I really feel dumb at the moment... :-\ You're not dumb, most people don't even attempt this stuff. So you just want me to setup a basic menu and add an explanation? BTW, I read Rick Ace's thread... Didn't want to break rules, so I'll say it here... I began learning HTML and CSS by playing with the V3 source code... First page I ever put online duplicated their methods (and I can still remember while I was coding it, thinking to myself, "I'll probably look back at this in 3 or 4 years and wonder what I was thinking..." I mention this because I would have thought if there were coding errors on SDS, you would have pointed them out... - Niobe. ;D Proboard's source code is not standard code and so that's why I said it's best to not learn from it. HTML is a very small part of Proboards, most of it is server-side code which runs the service and generates the HTML for all the pages that you view. When it comes to a forum service like this, having standard code isn't really important as long as the forum is displayed correctly in all browsers. Plus, things were different when this version of Proboards was written. v5 will be a lot better. From skimming your code it looks fine except for a few <font> tags and a few &nb sp;. Just use text-indent with a <p> (paragraph) tag for indenting and formatting your text.
