Yes this language is over 10 years old but it's the first coding language I ever learned and I can't leave it.
I've noticed some methods like "Mid()", "Dir()" and "Environ()" if you do "Mid$()", "Dir$()" and "Environ$()" it works with or without $. What's the point of $?

Oh man, I don't believe I remember this. I Googled to make sure.
The $ denotes that it's a string. So while Function() may return an integer (such as the position of a character in a string), Function$() returns it as a string version of that position.
assuming first position is 0 Function('a', 'cat') # integer 1 Function$('a', 'cat') # string "1"
