So, I've been wanting to start drawing digitally instead of on pencil and paper. Would the Wacom Bamboo pen be the thing I've been dreaming of? I've looked at the reviews on BestBuy, most of them being like "Best buy ever!" no pun intended! Any graphics users here have one that they'd like to share any pros/cons of this tool?
Thanks!

I just bought the "pen and touch" just because it came with Photoshop Elements and the regular "pen" didn't.
I've been really happy with it so far. Another admin, Ryan, has one too and I know he loves it as well.
My only gripe about it is that because I don't hold my pen like a normal person, I tend to unintentionally push the buttons on the side of the stylus...but it's worth the buy for sure.

I have the same one as Ren, and I really enjoy it. I haven't had any problems with it so far, other than the fact that it doesn't magically turn me into a professional artist ;d The pen-only one is a bit cheaper, as I remember. Depending on what you're planning on doing, it's probably not a big deal to do without the touch functionality, but it is really fun.

I got a Bamboo Fun before touch was added. The only thing I've come close to regretting is not getting the bigger size, but I always have trouble with desk space so it's worked out. When I got it, I also got a piece of that scratch-proof stuff to put on the drawing surface. I like the feel of it better and it's most likely saved the nib of my pen. I got it back in 2008 and I don't see any wear on the nib and of course the tablet is scratch-free.

I love mine. I use it more than daily. If you're on a budget I would suggest you get the Bamboo Pen first, since I find the touch capability to be absolutely useless so it just extra money for nothing if you are stuck between the two lower models. I'm upgrading to an Intuos in about a year. I just needed to make sure that I was able to use my Bamboo regularly before spending that much money. And while I agree with comments that a larger size would be nice, it's not necessary. The Bamboos all have adequate work space. I keep doing daily sprints where I only give myself 10 minutes to draw something completely. Here's a good one from a couple weeks ago. ;D Attachments:

Yeah, like I said, I don't use the touch on mine. The only reason I bought the Pen and Touch was because it was only like $20 more and it came with Photoshop Elements. The Pen doesn't.

I have Photoshop CS2, so I don't need any Photoshop programs. I think I'll talk to my mom about getting me one from wacom.com

If you're gonna order online, I recommend Amazon. It's cheapest there.

Which one is it? xD Depends on whether you want it slightly faster or slightly cheaper. You can also get them at staples -- I got mine on sale there. I really wouldn't hold your breath for it, though -- I'd say go with ones they mentioned. Also, Ryan, just want to say that that drawing is badass.
