I think it's time...The most plausible answer is that she's saying this for attention. If that's the case, she needs professional help... They are perceiving a reality that empiricism dictates doesn't exist. I won't play into the deluded fantasy that your girlfriend has a gift and can see spirits. That's BS and could cause her further harm... Consult a trained mental health professional. Seriously. No one here (including myself) is qualified to help you. Do not call a ghost hunter. Do not call a priest. Call a psychiatrist. Beautifully said. I agree 100%!

What kind of Mormon value is judging people? Agreed. I'm not saying that spirits don't exist. But I will say that, all this spooky stuff doesn't matter. Just make sure there's nothing wrong with her medically. After that you can talk to a priest. I was more joking than anything. ok. This I was joking thing is getting old from you or anyone else in a serious thread. This was not a joking thread and you did not come across as if you were. If you really were why? A comic is not needed in every thread. If there really is an issue with the person being talked about, how does joking from anyone help?

When I replied, I did with the uncertainty if the OP's friend was seriously ill or just faking, as many of the other members have suggested. I was implying that in real life if someone said that, I wouldn't take them seriously. In this case, I don't know if I should. Which is why I said I was joking (about the chicken, which is what I assume was being attacked). I'm not the only one half hesitant to believe, so...

I don't get why people have the need to post the same things over and over again. I think you get the point that he should seek help from doctors and such, but posting it over and over and over isn't helping the thread along x.x

FAO: ukschalke: I was being humorous. The acid gag was tongue-in-cheek! Freedom of speech: I personally dont believe. Why? Because there's so much fake stuff out their, whether it be on tv or the net - 99% is faked. I watch numerous ghost type programmes and have done so for many years and not ONE has concrete evidence that they encountered ghosts. TV "make believe". The net twists events. Take me to a place where i will see a true ghost and allow me to photograph it, then i may consider a u turn on my opinion. If i took you to a normal building. A building thats never been claimed as "haunted" - and asked you to spend the night there,......and i told you it WAS haunted, you too would start to hear noises and as the night rolled on, and your lack of sleep, you would start to see things too. Lack of sleep can make you hallucinate. Any building "settles" at night time. noises can be heard in many new and old buildings at nighttime. this is called "settlement". Floorboards return to their normal position, heating pipes clink and clunk. noises that may appear to be "ghostly". As for seeing a ghost, like i say, tiredness can play a part and tell someone "theres a ghost over there" (and its dark) they too would become convinced that they too could see something. Its all about the psychology of someones mind and how susceptible they may become under abnormal circumstances. I once rigged one of my kids trainers to a piece of dark cotton. Once me and my fiancee sat down to watch tv, i gently tugged on the cotton. she missed the first attempt i did - then i pulled it again, and said "did you see that move?". she didnt know what i meant. I point to my sons trainer and said it just moved. she kinda laughed it off, but i pulled the cotton again and she saw the trainer move slightly. she freaked out really badly! I pulled a bit more, and she ran out of the room in a fit. The moral here is, if you see something, its not always the truth - but if you cant prove things exsist then best not to fake it because the "true" cases would be easier to determine over the fakes. Making the ghost images, orbs etc easier to prove or disproves - but for now,...the idiots will keep coming forward with "evidence" and making things harder to prove of real evidence. Thanks

^ Plus look at the modern cameras we have these days. Even the cheap stuff! They get good quality. Yet all the good solid evidence seems to be taken on low quality cameras and stuff.

Exactly A point to uphold i feel. Why go into a haunted home/house/castle (whatever) and use great cameras at first then, just because,....use pooty cameras for the "evidence"? Makes no sense. I can "grain up" a perfectly decent digital image or film footage to make it look old, or more "home made". Or for this case,....harder to see and prove. ghosts on camera are easy to fake. Cheers!

I could easily make a convincing home video with special effects (or even just strings tied to doors or small light furniture) and post it here, only claiming I'm sincerely honest about it being legit (don't you love the wording they use to try to convince you?)

Sometimes, strange things end up getting mis-placed in my house, that I know I put in one place, but end up in another. Some of them are even big, obvious things, like clothing, coats missing, even a bill I paid the one day. I paid a bill, put it in an envelope, stamped it. Somehow, then, the bill goes missing before I mail it. I search thinking, how could it have left my desk? I search the house. I never find the bill I just paid, so I had to call the company, after looking for it for two day, and pay my bill over the phone. I eventually found it in a drawer a few days later. Weird... Living other places, I never lost as much obvious stuff as I have here. Maybe it's jut me being an air-head, I don't know. But, it's annoying as heck either way!

You girlfriend's situation however, does seem a bit extreme. Check into her mental health history. But even still, nothing would surprise me in the world. Especially if she's fooling around with Chuckie Dolls or Quigee Boards.

Like I said unicorns. There are little girls that believe unicorns are real. But we all know that they don't exist. It doesn't matter if 12 million girls believe it they are not real
His argument is because some believe it to be true there is the possibility that ghost exist. If there were ghosts there would have been definitive proof by now.

Here's why you're argument won't match. There's a much higher belief of ghosts in society. The nature of ghosts make them harder to spot than unicorns. Unicorns have origins we can trace to, and there isn't any fossil evidence of it. There's just not any belief. And if Unicorns were invisible, its going to be hard to disprove it.
