Funny as some of the posts on here are, any chance of some meaningful feedback on how the Beta is going? Or, if this is the wrong thread for that, any chance of a dedicated feedback and discussion thread, where V5 Beta functionality etc. is discussed so us on the outside looking in can ask questions and get some idea how the software is shaping up?

If you ask a question here you'll get an answer

Most for the beta functions are discussed in the private boards for discussion of the beta (which you get access to when you're accepted to testing), so there's not that much for testers to post about here unless you ask something more specific (if you did and we all missed it, then sorry ;d )

Ok here's a few - how is V5 shaping up regarding bugs etc.? Is it looking stable, or does it crash a lot? Is anyone finding a feature particularly annoying/unnecessary/not doing what it's meant to?

I understand these questions will be answered once myself and others can try it out for ourselves, but that could be weeks away.

Some feedback would be appreciated!

As far as I've seen thus far, it's about as stable as you could ask. =P No crashing or anything. Bugs are minor on the users end, and are being fixed about as quickly as they're being found. The admin features are still (in part, at least) being coded, so I dunno how they'll be tested, but for the most part it's all working rather nicely, it seems. =]
I haven't personally found anything particularly annoying, but one of the reasons for the beta testing is to get people's consensus on everything, so I'm sure once it's opened up to later testers/the public pretty much everything in the final release will have been discussed multiple times. =P

It's very stable, there's still plenty of bugs but most are minor ones. There's discussion over a few features that were changed / removed, but in most cases the reply is that "you'll be able to customize this back into the forum if you want".

We have upped it to automatically inviting 10 people a day at midnight UTC. Beyond that we make additional invite batches based on activity of current testers, number of bugs etc etc
