Must say I'm starting to fall in love with WinSCP it's giving me errors that Filezilla didn't and just making my life easier. How ever I notice there was an option to Shut down once you finished FTPing and I thought, wow you must of had to have a lot of files to want to select that option, so what's the longest amount you've ever FTP'd? I honestly can't say right now.

I honestly can't say right now. Wordpress uploads/downloads can take a while since they have so many files (partially because of jQuery.) I've taken 20+ minutes to upload the entirety of one of my projects because I forgot to tell it not to upload SVN files. In terms of backing up an -entire- server, I did just run it over night once and set it to shut off once complete (with no failed downloads)... sadly, there was a failed download. Or 50.

The only failed transfers I've ever had was due to the program not liking the file name or something like that

Something like 3-6 hours. I always ran it in the background and went off to do other things, so I can't say for sure. Mostly when porting backups from one server to the next, or when releasing a new file host (that is, files that are already pre-existing and arranged; not user-created files).
Like when I released files.gamingmedley (no longer existent), it had a good many gigs in it. It was just a huge collection of videos, music, images, and programs that were game-related. It has 5gb on it on the backup I still have on my computer. That, however, is after I deleted all the videos (I just uploaded them to YouTube and deleted the physical copies since they were taking up too much space).

A few hours. It was a wordpress theme and for some reason it would just ban my ip for half an hour every so often while uploading and I couldn't carry on till the half an hour was up =/
