Gimp/Gradient Trouble

Using GIMP selected the 2 colors then blended them together. I went to my site but the changes didn't come with it. It was a background for my banner. Is there something I need to save or do to have the desired effect show up on my board? This is the 1st time I've done this.

You saved the image and exchanged the new image URL for your old one?

I saved the image. I just don't know how to put it as my background where the name of my forum goes up top

"Nicobolus General Discussion". You'll notice it's still white. Below is my site. The color behind the title is white. I am no computer wizard by any means. I'm still learning. What do I do to make sure the chosen colored images are placed there?

When you go in to modify your skins/forum colors, you'll notice there's a place for you to put a Logo URL. That's where you put the image URL for your banner.

The banner image from gimp is saved into my "Pictures" folder. It won't show the URL for it. When I click on it twice, it brings me right back to gimp.

You'll have to host images on the web before you can use them. Try registering at Photobucket and uploading them from your computer there. Then copy and paste the "Direct link" for the image.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your patience.

I registered with Photobucket. I clicked on Upload from My Computer.
clicked on my pictures folder which shows an icon of a dog or something, but no URL is showing for the image.

If it's any help I know how to hotlink images for my logo and post em no problem, but this one won't give me a URL for the downloaded image of the banner. All I have finished on my banner so far is the color scheme. I haven't added any letters or images yet. I decided to test it to see how the colors look behind my forum title "NICOBOLUS GENERAL DISCUSSION" before I continued. (current color behind my forum name is white.)

You can see your image has uploaded successfully, correct? When you hover over the image it should give you several links to choose from. One for emails, one for forums, etc. Direct link should be somewhere around there. Here's a screenshot:


I have it set up in my Account Settings that it only shows me the direct link, since I don't have a use for any of the others. xP You might wanna make sure it's checked for you as well. Go to your name in the top right, click on Account Settings. Go to Album Settings and make sure the checkbox next to Direct link is selected.

I chose to upload my image with Photobucket from my computer. The icon that represents the banner that I just created and saved from gimp is of a dog or donkey or something is located in my pictures folder. When I go to select it to upload through Photobucket, It won't let me do anything. I tried copying the icon with the idea of pasting it into my Logo url spot in the modify skins but it won't paste.

Ahhh! I think I know what you did wrong. Alright, go into GIMP and reopen that file. Go to File > Save As and make sure you select .png or .jpg for your file type. I think you saved it as a GIMP-only file, which is the default for that program.

OK! We're gettin there. I now see the rectangular image that I colored in the pictures folder where that stupid dog icon is. Where do I go from here?

Take the direct link and paste it into your logo URL in your skins/forum colors section.
