When I type in aliceotto (my username), and my password, it doesn't let me log in. So I try my email address. Same reaction. However when I get on my very old support account, it lets me log in. I registered for Beta awhile ago with this account .. so why's it being screwy?

When I try to go to your profile it doesn't exist in v5.
This is likely because you only registered your current account two weeks ago. The v5 forum is a copy of this forum. The last copy was made before your current account was. You can register on the v5 forum in the mean time or use your older account that you mentioned. When we make our next copy your account will exist.

That's the thing. I tried registering, but it didn't work. Same reaction, says it's not created. Is that supposed to happen?

I just registered a brand new account beginning to end with no problems. v5.proboards.com/user/180209You say it says it's not created. What says that? What specifically does it say and where? (screenshots if you need to) At what part of registration did you get stuck? Did you start here? network.proboards.com/register/v5

I didn't get stuck anywhere, I go through beginning to end with no problems, too, but then it brings me back to the login page. So I try to login. And it says the account isn't created. Says there's not an account registered with this username on this forum.

Like it mentions in the welcome email, you need to login with your email address from now on.

I'm honestly at an impasse right now.
There is currently no account with the username aliceotto on the v5 forum. If you completed registration it would be there. I've registered two accounts now with no issues with the registration or login system afterwards.
Let's try some trouble shooting, perhaps there's an answer there.
What browser, version, and operating system are you using?
Please tell me in detail what steps you have taken to register and access this account. Please be detailed. Go through the process again if you need to describe the steps.

I'm using Google Chrome, I don't know what you mean by version, and I'm using Windows XP. 1.) I put in my e - mail address. 2.) I added my password, name, birthday, and gender. Clicked next. 3.) I added my username, and told it to show my gender, and only the month and day of my birthday. 4.) I agreed to the ToS's, and clicked next again. 5.) I put in 'tastes like chicken,' which was the code. 6.) I clicked the login link in the corner, and added my e - mail address and password. Clicked continue. 7.) It says "We're sorry. We could not find the email you provided. Please try again."

There's the problem! You never activated your account. After step 5 where you did the CAPTCHA you should have arrived at the activation page below. Can you please look at the image below and confirm if you did or did not arrive at step E in the picture. Clicking login before you have completed registration completely will not allow you to login to the account you were attempting to create. Even if you didn't arrive somehow you should still have received an email with an activation link. Check your email (spam box if not in your inbox) for the activation email. So help us troubleshoot this to prevent further issues by answering the following questions. 1) Did you arrive at step E from the picture or not?
2) Did you receive the activation email or not (check spam folder)?

I put in 'tastes like chicken,' which was the code. I clicked the login link in the corner... After re-reading this a few times I realized exactly what you're doing wrong. You need to click Submit on the CAPTCHA dialog. You will then be taken to the activation page where you can complete registration. We are going to update the registration process to make this easier in the future. We are going to remove all Login buttons during registration to remove confusion. We are also going to disable the ability to click outside of the CAPTCHA dialog box. Thank you for your assistance in finding design flaws with our interface. We appreciate the help with improvements. Hopefully now you will be able to get through the process unimpeded. ;D

Can you take a screenshot of the page you arrive at after you click submit on the CAPTCHA (step D) please?
Somehow something strange is happening to just you, but we need to solve it not just for you but just in case there is a bug in the system that will affect more people.

Yeah .. I'm about to sound like a real retard, but I don't know how to take screen shots. But I can tell you that it takes me right back to the enter your email page. From there, I enter my email and it sends me through the registration process again.

Okay, we're already making the changes I mentioned above to the registration system. I'm going to make sure we look at every possibility to figure out whats going on. There's no reason why you should be sent back to the first step of Registration after you fill out the CAPTCHA.
Ill post an update if I discover anything. Thank you for all your help and patience.
