I am at a loss. What is v5? Proboards?
I am starting to get the hang of what we got. I don't like to see a system change to a better look. For example the time line of face book. I refuse to have it because I enjoy that simple looks. Add stuff you likely get people confuse. And I have too many friends who hate the time line and they can"t go back.
Can you give me a brief what you are talking about? I am concern that I am a new admin and I am slowly getting more players and some been around. What if they say I hate the new version. Does this mean I got to work twice hard to make my people to love the game and over look the new version?
I want them to be happy. I had been in a game that moved three times. After the third I gave up on the game.

There's a HUGE list of things that will be better, but to try some out, go to the test V5 forum: v5.proboards.com

You are currently using ProBoards V4.5. This forum, and all other current forums are V4.5. As mentioned in the above FAQ, you can preview the open beta version of V5 at v5.proboards.com.

With the release of v5, I'm sure someone will release "revert back" templates that let you make your forum look similar to v4.5.

I just hope you don't need a new email for each account. That was a game I was in and I hated for it.

You can actually use one email for say 30(random number) different accounts on a forum(if you wished). That's apart of the new global login system.

As much as I like V5 and personally will be upgrading asap, I really don't think it should be a compulsory upgrade as many do prefer this version.
However I'm sure there are some technical reasons as to why that needs to be done.

It's probably not going to happen as Ricky verified before.

I don't know exactly how they are doing the backend for it, but I would assume it uses the same security as the existing ProBoards login. Maybe they will even up the security from 4.5.

But you're compressing all accounts into one. I can see its benefits but I'm sure not everyone will want that.

Say you are apart of a Role Play forum and you want multiple characters. Instead of making a new email for each one. You use your global login one. And then with that one you can have a bunch of accounts that you can then easily swittch between. You wouldnt even have to login in to each different one. Just the global one. And then you can switch between them in a matter of 3 seconds.

This will also hopefully cut down on the spamming accounts, though I only see a proper use for it in roleplaying forums, but that's all PB seems to be hosting these days. Or at least, what forums seem to be active.
