Real Time?

Just wondering if v5 is updated in real time? like if someone messaged me I can see that without refreshing the page, would be pretty freaking epic

Unfortunately resource-wise this is very intense. Certain things like the shoutbox will update in real time for a while after you load the page. And you can re-activate it after it has stopped too. But entire pages like your inbox or a thread can't do that at this time.

We do have plans for future improvement of things like this. So while it may not be a launch feature that doesn't mean it won't exist eventually. We're always improving the ProBoards experience. And this would clearly be a great way to do that.

it would be a pretty cool feature as I have not yet seen it in any other Forum Softwares, as long as it is in there eventually it would be pretty cool. I understand that it will be intense.

Just going along. I think this is also a great idea, but can understand why it cant be put in now.

It might be because it could be server intensive. Lots of forums all updating at the same time could slow the whole system down.
