Hello there, Sorry to bug you guys. But I have question about the BetaZone test. ^^
I was just wonder does signing up for ProBoards BetaZone cost anything? Or will our boards be automaticly upgraded when the offical release of V5(nonbeta)((if we sign up for the V5 BetaZone)) comes out; and be subjected to pay for the offical release version?
And would we have to pay something to get the features that are discribed in the emails that were sent out to the admins on our boards? Or are they all included in the test? (like the ProBoards Avatar Maker, live search, integrated shoutbox, personal messages with more than two people)
*is so excited for all the new gagets to play with :'D * So Sorry for the mass of questions ^^; ((<--is a cheep college student lol))
Thank you very much for your time! ~Amelia

Greetings,
ProBoards is not charging anything for the beta program. After the official full release of V5, all forums will be converted to the no software (again, without fee).
ProBoards is centered around free forums. V5 will have paid options, but like V4, the basic forum will be free.

When and if I up-grade to version 5 can I still keep my board private and only those whom I approve can post or will anyone be able to read and post on it?

longview65, we're not changing your board settings. If you have set your board to be restricted, it will still be restricted after the upgrade.

I'd like to know if we will be able to keep all of our threads and posts. If not, is there a way to back up and possibly re-post them. (too many to do this manually) Thank you!

Just found the answer! No data is lost in the conversion. You will keep every post, every thread, every category, every board. You don't need to have any technical knowledge. In fact, ProBoards v5 is even easier to use than ProBoards v4.5.

Hi nindicapinion,
It's just an upgrade. You found your answer, but just to clarify. You aren't losing anything. We're just improving the forum software for everyone. We're increasing login security and the forum experience.
