Open Global messages/messages and make sure no boards or category's are selected . Also click edit and make sure your theme is selected.

I am having the same issue. Don't have any boards or categories selected, but the message is still showing on all of them, even on calendar, members, etc. Only place it is not showing up is custom pages and admin.

Edit to add: Just as a test I selected one board. With this setting the message shows on one board only, nowhere else, not even the main page, which is where I wanted it.

Some confusion here it seems.

By default it will show everywhere, however there are settings to show a message specifically in categories / boards.

Basically what you are asking, is a feature to show a message on the main page only?

That is correct.

2.3.0 is release (download in first post).

- You now have the option to show a message on the main page only.
- Messages are reversed to match the way you enter them.

I have version 2.2.1 installed and working, but when I go to install 2.3.0 I get :



This seems to happen whether the previous version is disabled, or not.

I think you may have to remove the previous version 2.2.1
Then download and install the updated version 2.3.0

I removed old version first and then updated. I copied my message in 2.x.x to Notepad so I wouldn't have to retype it.

Hi Peter,

Great Plugin, is allowing me to use that space easily.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make the messages collapsible (like your shoutbox and quick reply plugin)? As if we start using it for staff messages and things some people could end up with quite a few.

That is just too much complication. I have three separate message areas, with each one aimed at different groups. Cutting and pasting that lot of information would take an age and life is simply too short to do that sort of thing every time there is a minor update. I think I will stick with 2.2.1 until the Forum conversion at the end of the month. I will then install the latest version and wait for some simpler way of doing updates. It is not just this plug-in, but plug-in updates in general. The more information you put in them the more time consuming updating them becomes.
