Allows a user to collapse and expand each category on the home page. Note that this only effects each individual user, so if you collapse a category it will not effect anybody else. PreviewAdditional Features - You can choose to have certain categories be collapsed by default - You can choose to add text or an icon to categories that have new posts - You can choose to add a background color to categories that have new posts - You can choose add a background image to categories that have new posts - You can choose to animate the opening and closing of categories - You can set the speed of the animation - Uses a plugin key to remember which categories have been collapsed - Uses the HTML5 localStorage object to remember which categories have been collapsed as a guest Download Version 1.0.4

Awesome, and thanks. I've made it editable in case people change their forum HTML on the home page.
By the way, I'm storing the category collapse memory using the HTML 5 localStorage object, so if you use a different browser, get on another computer or clear your cache, they won't be collapsed. I could use a Proboards key so it would be remembered for all browsers on all computers, but I'm not sure if people would really care that much.
Would you guys prefer that they stay collapsed for all browsers on all computers, or do you not really care?

I wouldn't mind it being carried from browser to browser without having to recollapse categories, but not a deal breaker.
Could/is there an option to have the category be a different color if there are new posts so that you don't have to open each category.

Could/is there an option to have the category be a different color if there are new posts so that you don't have to open each category. That's a great idea, I'll have to add that. Thanks.

Jordan, why don't you use the plugin keys to store the data?

I wrote it very quickly last night, and completely for about the keys haha. But I'll go ahead and make it use keys instead.

My coding admin has written one for this as well, with the default being collapsed. Not sure if he intends to add it to the library though.

Jordan, wouldn't the "slideUp()" "slideDown()" function look a little better then just showing and hiding it?

Yeah, that would look better. I've just been busy with school lately so I haven't had time to work on anything.

I'm wondering. Could this be altered a bit to make the categories disappear until accessed by a button located in a side bar?

Yes, but do you mean completely hidden as in you can't see the category bars either?

Exactly. Something similar to this: The buttons in the side bar would open the category wanted, leaving the background image free. Make sense what I mean?

Yeah, but you'll need to make another thread since that will require a different plugin.
