[Plugin request] Change Post Destination

Hows the progress going Wormo? Do you think there will be a conflict with the custom post plug-in? Because I need to use both.

wont know on that one. right now Im trying to squeeze out the board lists that I used to be able to just grab from jorumjump in order to make it appear in a new drop down at the bottom of the posting area.

Edit: Hey Wormo, I just noticed that the user would have to see the the finish product of the post. Can you make it so the post can go to a private board for staff only? The idea behind this is so the staff will have to pm the user. I don't want the world to see this users post or the user.

I dont think it will work. you can try it though. I seem to recall v4.5 it would pop up an error after the post was submitted.

I'll try it like I have it setup but if you can think of something let me know. If you have a private board and members are allowed to do threads will they only be able to see threads or all threads?

likely would see all threads. the original intent of the code was to just redirect a new thread to a new location. if the base code doesnt allow it, there isnt a way around it.

no I mean see what it does if someone posts who doesnt have access to the destination board.

It would have to be members and staff as it works now. But what I was hoping for was after the post was made it would go to that private staff board. This is so staff could deal with it without having member involvement. Then in turn staff would pm that member as a reply. Keeping it personal between that staff member and the user. It's a help desk idea I was using on v4. It seem to work for me on v4.

right.. so if members dont have access to the staff board, have one of them make a test post in the origin board and see if it
1. moves their post to destination board
2. gives them some sort of error or tells them they cannot access board

in v4.5, it would move the post but throw the error on the screen. I couldnt suppress that, which is why I put something in the description that it should be a board they can access.

It does move to that destination as long as they have permission to access the board. Or like you said an error appears when they have no access to the board.

so if they dont have access it doesnt move it at all now?


so apparently so.  members must have access to , and be able to create threads on that board.  but you can make it where they cannot SEE the board so it doesnt appear on main page or forum navigation.

I cant make the base software do something it considers a security breach.


I might have to rewrite this a bit anyways because currently, it options everything for the one instance.. if you wanted to do different things on different boards, it wouldnt work.
