Just updating people who are keen on knowing what's happening with the Stock Market feature.

Things are going well with it so far.

I have implemented all of the purchasing of stock, and saving of the data etc. I added in a check to prevent people buying more stock if the cost per unit is different, so they would need to sell their current investment first.

Things left to do...

- Displaying your investments
- Selling all / part of your investment
- Cleaning up the HTML
- More customising (i.e changing company names and stock symbols)

Am thinking of adding in an option for the user to monitor stock across the forum (either as a table at the top of the forum, or from the Yootil Bar that will bring up the stock window in the middle of the screen), that way they could sell at any point on the forum and not having to keep checking the Stock Market page. I haven't decided yet, and if I do, it will be optional and may not make it in with the initial release.

I had it at 15% since players do not make posts everyday, and put about 20 in the bank. Made a few posts over a couple of days but when i went back to check something the balance jumped to 29,055.34. But it wasn't really there it would only let me take back about 180.

Im not sure if others had the issue I left it on but didn't tell the forum yet about the feature.

Hey Peter - one of my members reported just one thread that they started on a sub-board didn't get money:

((Oddly I started a thread on that exact sub-board and had no issues getting money from it etc))

Money code and Yootil are board all other plugins with Yootil being the highest. It seems to be hit and miss, person in question uses firefox

peter Alright, gotcha. There just has been little information released about what proboards decision was for this feature. I will keep watching and waiting. Thanks for your hard work, I could never do that level of coding. It is always appreciated.

Very strange.  Are you using the latest version (0.5.3)?

They've been mentioning that its been happening on and off but I haven't had any more mentions yet - I've told them to keep me updated however. It seems to be happening at random boardwise for them

Yes it was the latest version of the plug in. I thought it might of been because I had it at 15 and not 15 percent but when i went back it doesn't let you put in a percentage symbol. So im not sure whats happened.

Few updates for people who care about the next release.

- The money symbol can now be changed to an image (I know a few people wanted this)
- Stock Market core feature is completed
- Stock Market chart image can be disabled
- Stock Market can be disabled completely
- Bank coin image can now be replaced
- Nearly all inline CSS has been removed and put into a stylesheet. This will enable easier customising for people.
- Main admin can edit their own money now.

Left to do:

- If stock has been removed for some reason, detect and refund investment
- Allow customising of stock names and symbols
- Add more companies to invest in (if you have some suggestions, post the stock symbol)

0.6.0 will drop sometime this week.


Edit:  Here is the stylesheet.

You will not be able to edit this yourself (it's part of the plugin which isn't editable), however you can use it as a guide to override existing styles easily.

New feature added to 0.6.0.

At the moment there is no way to check if a plugin is up to date automatically, so I rolled my own update checker.

Basically it checks the server for the latest version, if there is a newer version, it will put up a message on your forum for the main admin only. The update checker only checks how often you want it too, and can be turned off completely.

Hi Peter,

I have an issue where the amounts stored in all the banks of our members (including mine) has randomly disappeared.

Do you have any idea why?
