Hello, I use this plugin, and I love it. I recently used the microsoft edge browser, and about 90% of the smilies in the window have become black "x"s. I am attaching a picture. The plugin works fantastically in every other browser, and nobody uses the edge browser by choice, so it isnt the end of the world. If this was already addressed. I am sorry. I have a killer headache and dont have the patience to read through every dropdown post on the site. I love love love this plugin. Thanks.Nina The black X usually means a broken link.. I assume all was OK with other browsers? The plugin workd on my PC using Edge just fine. Could you please post or PM me a link to a guest friendly thread on your forum so I can take a look. I'll not need to post anything, but I will need to see the posting page. Thank you.

Oops! I'm sorry. I forgot to check my notifications. If it you are still interested in checking it out, here is a link to a guest friendly thread on my site. Yes, it works fantastically in every other browser. If you happen to know how I can change the color of my original smiley menu, I would love to know. Somehow a lot of the code on this theme was mixed up and/or deleted, so you could say it meows backwards. I am in the process of redoing it from scratch, so knowing where in the proboards code that is accessible to me to do this would be great. Thanks, Nina

Have you tried viewing the missing images directly? And, to change the background color of the smilie dropdown, add this to your forum's CSS, or you can add it to the plugin's style box if you prefer.. .smiley-menu { background-color: #123456; } The red number being the hex number of your color.

Hi accompliceboy, Unfortunately, you can't list the smiley images in the drop-down with the other plugins with this plugin, all you can do is remove the top part of the drop-down, leaving only the 'View All Smileys' button.. Clicking that should open a pop-up containing all of your smilies.. As for the weird letters and numbers, that is caused by your image host. There should be a setting somewhere that stops it from adding random characters to your image URLs.. Are you using Photobucket by any chance?

I've tried searching through the thread and couldn't find any info. I'm hoping I've just missed a way to give the smilies a name. With this mess with Photobucket, I've found a new image host, but they just give my images a random string of letters for a name and I'd like to be able to have a proper name show up for them when using this plug-in.

I had the same problem. In fact, I was using PhotoBucket for that very reason. I ended up switching to PostImage, as they retain the original filenames.

As the up-coming V6 will allow many more smilies to be added in the admin area, I doubt this option would be needed either. Sorry.

jcarter, accompliceboy.. There is a way to disable the random characters in Photobucket... Go to your settings, and in the Privacy tab, at the bottom, you have the option to scramble filenames.

Yes, being able to retain original filenames is why I was using PhotoBucket. The reason I left them is because of the bandwidth limit. Apparently they allow 10gb/mo, which I found out when they claimed my measly 230kb total (avg 2-3kb per smiley, most of which are 1kb) reached that limit within one week after monthly reset. That's a lot of smileys.
