Glad it worked for you Spice. Sorry I don't know about the other part. You may want to do a screenshot that may help Todge see what you are looking for.

ok will check on that, thanks chrissy. Yes! That worked I'd still like to be able to do certain smilies for certain categories though that way say a birthday category would only have birthday smilies in it. That can be done fairly easily Spice. In your Admin Panel, click on Structure, Header/Footer, and in the category or board Header, put this.. <script type="text/javascript"> var smilie = new Array();
// Edit Below...
smilie[0]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[1]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[2]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[3]="URL OF SMILIE";
// Edit Above... </script> That will overwrite your main smilie array with the one you want in that board or category.

Thanks so much Todge. Greatly appreciated. Is it me or does everything seem to be a little easier with v5 in some respects?

Is it possible to see a screenshot of how this works please Todge, spiceelicious - I am intending to put all the smilies on and they will be for Birthdays, Christmas etc etc...categories may just be the answer that I am looking for!! Thanks RF

Hi Rose and Rita, This is a screenshot from the smilies in my welcome category. Basically it works the same as the smilies in the global header but you are putting these into the header of a specific category.\

Where do the members see the categories?? Sorry to be dim but can you please explain exactly where and how etc?? RF

Rose, go into your admin panel From there navigate to Structure - Go to Structure Click on Headers and Footers Click on whatever category you want the images for I've given you a screenshot to help out I hope See where I have the x. You would click on that That would bring up your header and footer and you just copy that code into the header. Click save and voila.

Ah so the welcome smilies only show in the smilie dropdown list on your Member Welcomes and Introductions board, is that correct?

Just checked it out, I copied just my welcome smilies to the header of my Introductions board and they are the only ones that showed in the drop down menu - brilliant. Doubt I'll use the code in this way though.

I prefer it that way because say for the birthday category you only have birthday emotes and not erroneous ones. ok, had to come back and check to see if this posted as I got an angry bear when I hit reply.

This is the fault of all the good people on this board that has put this idea into my head... Todge I am extremely happy with the drop down smilie menu but I was wondering if it was possible to do something else.. I have various different sorts of smilies, - General, Valentine, Easter, Halloween, Christmas etc and I wondered if it were possible to do this.. Either from "Select smilie" or "View all Smilies" to put a drop down a menu such as .... Select Smilies/Whatever > General - this opens a new window with all the General smilies Valentine - this opens a new window with all the Valentine smilies Easter - this opens a new window with all the Easter smilies Etc Etc That is the general idea - very possible that it can't be done, I haven't a clue...?? Thanks RF

Doubt I'll use the code in this way though. Hi Rita, You can categorise your smilies within the dropdown and the pop-up window. Simply add the category title to the smilies array. Like this.. smilie[0]="Happy Smilies"; smilie[1]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[2]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[3]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[4]="Sad Smilies"; smilie[5]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[6]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[7]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[8]="Birthday Smilies"; smilie[9]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[10]="URL OF SMILIE"; smilie[11]="URL OF SMILIE";
etc..
