Yeah I'm aware we can do that - but it's not the same as being able to search by IP, or look at all the IP addresses of guests - which was handy for figuring out when we were being spidered or visited by bots. But hey - it's not the end of the world, and this is the layouts thread - don't want to hijack it with a minor whinge which has been thoroughly talked about elsewhere

I didn't want to post the link to my actual site. But this is the theme a forum I'm a G-mod on is using. I made it so we had ones that were less plain and more pictures...

Have you considered a blank background for your header image, so that the stars are always consistent with the background? =]

I'm new to PB and so far think it's an awesome service! I upgraded the forum to v5 ... nice changes!!

Question:

Is there a way to move the shoutbox to the top of the page, above the Categories? Also, to reduce the height to more the size of the Quick Reply box.

Hey wazzuppb,

You can move the shoutbox up top by going to your admin panel > Structure > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper. Around line 67 you should see $[shoutbox] sitting there on its own line.

Cut and paste $[shoutbox] onto line 48, above $[participated_threads_link]. This will move it above all of the actual message board content on your site.

After that, navigate to Settings > Shoutbox, and on this screen there will be a field where you can edit the height of the shoutbox. The height of the Quick Reply box is 240px, so you'll want to set it to that. Note however that doing this will only display 2 or so shouts at a time, as the shoutbox is designed to be 410px tall natively.

I settled for this. I'm really digging the new upgrade. The interface is nice. I'm still messing with the headers and footers now a days but I can't complain.

I'm in the midst of navigating my way around the new v5 as an admin for both of my boards.
I also really like what you can do with the layouts.
Seen some very nice ones here and giving me an idea for some new ones for my boards as well.
I've also found that when you change the banner to no image and then transparent the logo of your board looks a lot better.
I'm also the Board Theme/Avatar Keeper at the Battlestar Galactica Club board. We've got nine themes at the site!

The members can access the other themes when they edit their profiles.
I'll be posting the themes for my other boards that I admin myself, once they're ready.
Loving the changes in v5 of ProBoards. *five thumbs up!*
