I was a little surprised to see that I had to re-login after the V5 upgrade.

I'm going to have to get used to all of the changes. Guess this is what happens when one doesn't sign up for the beta testing.

The templates are what the forum uses to display each page. Now, instead of having to use header/footer codes to make simple changes, forum admins are able to access and change them directly. This means you've got almost complete control over how your forum looks.
Plugins are used for more advanced changes which aren't easily attainable by editing the templates. They have, in effect, replaced header/footer codes in v5.

Try having a look at the Open Beta category here on PBS, might clear things up a little.

Thank you. I knew there was a thread somewhere, but couldn't find it. I think I got. Thank you for clearing that up. Maybe after I get to play with it, I'll understand it a lot better.

Thank you. I knew there was a thread somewhere, but couldn't find it. I think I got. Thank you for clearing that up. Maybe after I get to play with it, I'll understand it a lot better.

The pagination bar follows the top of your screen. Before you scroll up, just look up. =P

If you edut your profile > settings,  the old skins are still there, and i think more on the way, though i don't  know how well the old ones work, haven't looked

Nope, you can use the '@' and then the person's username. As long as you know their username, that is.

Pretty sure in due time we'll all get to know the usernames of people that we mention a lot. For example, I'm fairly sure I know Graham 's username by heart because he loves me like a puppy.

I agree that it would be nice to have a little search like on facebook whenever you type the @ button....
